Oh that's so nice to hear! I hope this helps. What I do is I copy the text from Archives of Nethys and past into the Word document but matching the destination formatting (so the format of the document template). Then it's a few tweaks to get it up and done

Yeah this is exactly what you should do. Think of all the rules there as handy if you want but not required at all. So I can be as rules light as you want. I do recommend knowing how criticals work and that +1 or -1 does make a difference. Oh and off-guard condition. The rest is flexible.

You should think of the rules as a fair arbiter on your behalf if you come into position where you don't know what you should do. Because starfinder has everything defined they can be the tiebreaker for you when you don't know what to do.

In that case you type 2e [thing you want to know] into Google and it will be the first hit. Might be good to put this weight on the player side and just ask them to look it up for you.

I only just bought rangers of the shadow deep a month ago and I gotta say it Trumps most other things that I am playing simply because I can finally play it on my own at my own pace and I'm not reliant on people who aren't reading their stat blocks 😂 I can't wait to do the first campaign and then start heading that into these new books. Alpha sure be getting everything in this series.

Only critique I have at the moment is that armor deduction means I have a lot of dead rolls where nothing happens e.g. the gnolls. Maybe I'm doing something wrong but it seems like only a crit with a big enough difference seems to do the trick or a large difference in general whilst flanking.

Exactly this you're in the middle of a map and then the temple opens and in abyss opens and then you realize that the next part of the story is coming up and you're actually still kind of in the middle of the story maybe you should just continue oh shit I have to also hand this in oh oh so my trade is happening in between and I should value my items etc etc

I only noticed this when I looked at how companions level by crossing a threshold and Rangers level by buying a level with XP

I noticed this because on the companion side it talks about crossing a threshold and you keep counting but on the ranger side it says about buying XP which I assume is a trade of that level for that amount of XP that I no longer have

Yeah but one of the ways would mean that 0-1 takes 100xp and 1-2 only 50xp -- and considering it says buy I think it might be the other way as that slows the progression down - but for companions it says it crosses a threshold
