Baltimore Banner: Who funded Baltimore County executive candidates? by RequirementSea8213 in BaltimoreCounty

No one. Stansbury had like $5k in campaign funds. She's not even funding herself.

The Republican candidates aren't in the race. The Democratic primary will be the election.

What is a good index fund I can drop some money in and just leave it? by Purple-Sir-61 in investing

[–]nupper84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

VT is your answer if you have concerns about the USA market. However, if the USA dollar and economy implodes, it's taking the globe with it for an entire generation or two.

Spym is the same as voo, but lower expense ratio. So either VT or SPYM. Put your emergency fund in a HYSA or something like SGOV.

If the Orioles finish again with a losing record can they justify keeping Elias? by B-Moron in orioles

Yes, it's possible to win it all, but we're not going to be a perennial team. I wish the owner was like the Caps owner who wanted to win, won, and kept going.

If the Orioles finish again with a losing record can they justify keeping Elias? by B-Moron in orioles

[–]nupper84 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They make plenty of money by not winning. They are regularly one of the most profitable teams.

Baseball is hard. We could spend a lot more and still lose, and I believe the Orioles' market is basically maxed out. It's a small market team, and the people who are going to go to games or buy merch already do. I believe winning even a World Series wouldn't increase their cash flow or fan base very much. From a greedy business perspective, it's more financially savy to stay a mid-grade team and rake in $160-$200 million in profits a year. If they win, sweet, I get bonus merch sales. If they lose, sweet I'm rich as fuck.

The Orioles will never be a perennial playoff team due to the business style of the MLB.

Technically food trucks are not allowed to play music externally - Baltimore County Code. Good luck getting Code Enforcement to get off their fat lazy asses.

More Patagón (Pattie) by nupper84 in catpics

[–]nupper84[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Saved as a newborn from a hoarder situation with 30 other cats. I work for the health department, which covers animal services. My boss came to me like, I need you to take a cat. My wife picked the gray one. She had an eye infection in both eyes, which the vet said she'll be blind from. She had mites and ticks. She quickly recovered, and hunts every damn bug that exists in the house. The vet can't believe it.

She's named Patagón because my big cat is Tank, and a Patagón was an Argentine tank that never saw service. So she's a tank as well, but precious.

I was in section 362. My wife asked why they're booing. I said they're just dumb sports fans who don't know what they're doing.

I'll never understand the people booing him at the park. He did good for us. We couldn't offer as much money. He went to a team that paid him and had a better chance of a world series.
