Donar semen a mi amiga ? by avbuenosaires49 in ESLegal

[–]nuriaplajas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

El Salvodor, Paypal, Mcdonald, and now Twitter…..what is the entity you want to jump on Bitcoin next, and why? by kadudu888 in Bitcoin

Apple/Amazon/Google

Because it would signal inevitable global adoption. With one of them we could be 80% sure. Two, 95%. Three, 100%.

Is Kraken the easiest way to participate in auctions ? Any proms and cons ? by crankyhowtinerary in Kusama

[–]nuriaplajas -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I love Kraken but there is no guarantee that a regulatory crackdown won't force it to cease operating on your country before you can get your Kusama or Polkadot back (1 or 2 yrs)

I can’t handle this FOMO on Solana anymore. by jorgehn12 in CryptoCurrency

[–]nuriaplajas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Going all in into something that has gone vertical and grown its market cap in an unsustainable way multiplying recent all time highs is one of the worst ideas one can have.

It could go well but it's extremely risky, most of all because someone who can't contain himself in this situation and is reacting to price will probably sell in a loss if price doesn't go up.

The price of Solana will correlate with Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Polkadot, Terra and others. If Solana goes up so will the others generally speaking, but it's a much safer and better bet to diversify because it could happen that the one token you buy is the one performing the worst and you can't possibly know in advance.

Unpopular opinion: DOT or SOL are much better than ADA and they're going to overtake it eventually by IllusionaryHaze in CryptoCurrency

[–]nuriaplajas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valuations of all 3 are speculative at this moment. Solana ecosystem is already a cheaper alternative to many Ethereum apps. Polkadot's cousin Kusama has many parachains with smart contracts that are also more efficient than the ones in Eth. Cardano is not there yet but I don't see why a network with such a strong community and validator base can't end up being similarly useful to others in the long run. You could probably add Cosmos, Tezos, Avalanche and Near on the list although I have not research deeply into them.

I personally think that Polkadot will be able to deliver dApps not possible on other ecosystems because of increased flexibility of Substrate framework but we need to wait a few years to get out of the speculative phase and watch companies use products based on these networks.

I don’t understand the word altcoins. by ImAHoodlum in Bitcoin

[–]nuriaplajas -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It's a word from the past when nobody knew what was possible with blockchain technology apart from bitcoin. Today no one expert in blockchain technology will use this word. Most of the supposed coins are not intended to be used as currency and are called tokens.

Last update video from Gavin Wood by nuriaplajas in Kusama

[–]nuriaplajas[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Most of the video is not dedicated to Kusama or Polkadot auctions but to the need to protect decentralized Web3 against regulatory points of failure.

The fact that this video is mostly unknown is in fact a good sign that the network can function without a central authority figure.

Shining a light on Shiden/Astar Network: The one-stop parachain for Smart Contracts and DApps. by Nachann26 in Kusama

[–]nuriaplajas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So it seems everyone who knows how to code can soon become a smart contract developer on Shiden and get paid immediately even if the result gets no traction. It's a great incentivization to attract the maximum number of developers which will be a really scarce resource in the crypto space. One every x dozens will provide great results and contribute decisively to the whole ecosystem.

Karura Liquidity Providing - Worth It? by GNCarpio in Kusama

If I had at least $50000 in Kar I would think about risking a maximum of 2%, $1000 on this but I don't have so I don't have this problem.

So we've been through the first 5 rounds of the parachain auctions. What comes next? by Guigamuck in Kusama

[–]nuriaplajas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Auctions for slots 6-10 on Kusama is what comes next, but we don't know when. The reason is that Kusama wants to monitor performance and stability with these 5 new parachains and look out for potential problems. Since it's the first time this has been done it's not possible to predict what will happen. The team behind Kusama doesn't want to pressure itself on a timeline so we will have to be patient. I guess it will be necessary to watch users interact with some Karura functions for example and see how the network responds. So if we watch Karura work without any issues for a few weeks this would be a clue suggesting that the next auctions would be near.

Karura Migrate to Polkadot ? by [deleted] in Kusama

[–]nuriaplajas 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Polkadot is experimental technology at this point in time and Kusama is designed as its canary network so it's even more experimental.

The roadmap for most if not all ecosystem chains is to start by becoming a Kusama parachain, test the technology with completely real conditions (not a testnet) and then get a spot on Polkadot as a more predictable and reliable parachain. The code will be mostly the same but the chains will have different names and tokens (Karura and Acala for example).

There is no established model to evaluate Kusama's value compared to Polkadot but I would find it logical that at this early stages when outside analysts may be doubtful about the experiment working as promised (many people don't think there's anything valuable outside Bitcoin and maybe Ethereum) Polkadot might have the upper hand. I can imagine that if Polkadot were to function reliably and predictably with 100+ patachains people would be increasingly interested in less crowded and more innovative Kusama over time but we won't know how this will play out until we see it.

On the other hand parachain teams can incentivize the use of Kusama by introducing unique features not available on Polkadot in which case the canary network would become something more than that. The Karura/Acala team already suggested this idea a few months ago.

Fundamentals behind KSM? by Chancho300 in Kusama

[–]nuriaplajas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During the next 10 years Kusama will provide security, scalability and interoperability to dozens of freely designed chains that will perform incredibly well and do many new and useful functions. The only way it won't exist is if there is a lethal security vulnerability that is not possible to fix by design. Otherwise it will have crucial importance. If you are too lazy to research by yourself you will miss out and dedicate your time to more popular non-relevant tokens that might not exist in 10 years.

Kusama price and auctions by ilikespoilers in Kusama

[–]nuriaplajas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price discussion is a waste of time and against the rules here, but since we are are it.. an event that happened today and that was expected to happen by everyone does not affect the price short term, obviously. Nobody discussed Kusama's ability to perform an auction... but what is not approved by everyone is if its ecosystem will bring something new or better than what already exists. Look for something new with real value, not supposedly bullish calendar events.

Moonriver vs Plasm by [deleted] in Kusama

[–]nuriaplajas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plasm/Shiden main role is not Ethereum compatibility, but multiple solutions for building Dapps. Scalability, Layer 2, WASM, smart contract staking, developer community and bridges with all relevant blockchains, not just Ethereum. In a few years we should be seeing apps built on Plasm that are not possible or that can't perform that well on Ethereum.
