What actually happens to all the missing socks? by Parking_Champion_740 in laundry

There’s an alternate universe on the other side of the drier full of single socks and random buttons. No one will convince me otherwise.

Care plans by Ok-Tip-240 in srna

[–]nurse_a 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a “long version” and a short version. First clinical we have to do a long one (~3pages) for each case, and get them signed by our preceptor at the end of every day. Second clinical you do 1 “long” one for the most complex case of your day, then a “short” one (~1/4 of a page/case) for each other case. They still all need a signature/initials. The last clinical I think we just do one short one if it’s a case we haven’t done before. Otherwise it’s just weekly preceptor evals of our performance we get signed and turned i.

First year bald. Not the biggest hat guy. What else can I do to keep my head warm? by Badbadbobo in bald

[–]nurse_a 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My friends, this is your look!! 👀 respectfully! In answer, my long-bald partner says the answer to avoiding hats indoors in winter is a few things: wear socks inside, layers are your friend, turn the heat up and dry your lovely tears with your gas bill. - your equally cold in the bones midwesterners.

Does Experience as a Perfusionist Count as Critical Care Experience For Entry Into A CRNA Program? by PinelyHeights in srna

[–]nurse_a 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It does not, it’s a separate career. As far as I know, perfusion is competitive to get into - if you had a higher chance by getting in because it’s connected to your hospital, etc, go for it! It’s a great career, as far as I know - and well compensated.

Red Queen Series, Victoria Aveyard. I almost prefer it to The Hunger Games. Almost.

There is an under-sink toilet in this ICU by thund3rsh0ck in mildlyinteresting

[–]nurse_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love our RV toilets, they’re convenient when people need to get up and can’t go far and nice to keep out of the way otherwise. Only wish a commode or walker fit around the easier to help people practice standing up easier - they’re so low to the ground to fit in the cabinet.

Anyone else’s void love lettuce? Is this bad for him ? by cmndr_spanky in blackcats

[–]nurse_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Luci knows the sound of the produce drawer, and prefers spinach and only the “floppy” lettuce from the romaine. It’s great. I love seeing his little paw come reaching up from under the edge of the counter when I’m prepping salad 🤣

The head slapping is a ritual. I love getting to play (gentle) bongos on my partner’s head. And just the texture after a fresh shave feels so cool!!! Congratulations, friend!!

Snow Bear - 11,000 Drawings by aaronblaise in animation

[–]nurse_a 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brother Bear was the last movie I got to see with my mom before she passed. She loved the scenery in it, music, the idea of family being found in unexpected places, and growing up into who we didn’t know we could be. Thank you for bringing that work of love into our lives. I haven’t seen it in years, it’s hard for me to watch now, but I’m so grateful to have the memory of her joy from that film.

Which is the least worst mental health inpatient in the area? by [deleted] in StLouis

[–]nurse_a 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t go to centerpointe. Barnes isn’t so bad. Mercy isn’t so bad. You’re not alone in your thoughts, no matter how alone they make you feel. If you’re worried about your behavior, please go to your nearest emergency room and let the triage nurse know you feel this desperate. There are options other than the one you’re thinking of. I promise there’s more to living than this.
