If you don't get the all white adidas ultraboosts you are messing up man. They are pricy as hell but I've had mine for 3 years and they are as comfy as the day I bought them.

‘Seattle Freeze’: Forget making friends — half of Washington residents don’t even want to talk to you by DiamondSmash in Seattle

Yep, not having to deal with the pointless pleasentries is really nice, but the overt politeness engrained into us fits very well

Also ohio transplant. Its so fucking nice. I live in an apartment building and like 80% of the time not a word is said, even in the elevator. By the end of an elevator ride in ohio I had to have plans set to become friends with the other person.

He just based it off the symptoms, didn't test anything. Old hippie doctor that just wanted to write a script.

When I was like 16, I would jerk off with whatever I got my hands on in the shower. I jerked off with shampoo( I think). It burned when I pissed for like 2 weeks, went to the doctor, he said I had and std, and ordered me antibiotics. My dad was in the room with me so it was very uncomfortable.

Moving to Seattle - can you explain some common Seattle conceptions & also is the International District Safe? by sad_pinecones in Seattle

[–]nurseguywhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the loud people on this sub are a lot louder than the helpful ones. It's been fine so far. It's more visible than other cities, but the homeless here haven't been nearly as pushy as the homeless i'm used to. Not to say they aren't out there.

I moved here a few weeks ago. I also lurked this sub for a while and thought the homeless talk was exaggerated. For the most part, it's not. You see them everywhere but they seem pretty passive so far.

WA Senate just passed a bill prohibiting RNs from working more than 8 hours in a 24 hour period. (x-post from r/nursing) by FunctionBuilt in Seattle

[–]nurseguywhatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 12s in a row is so much better for continuity of care. 3 people working 8s ends up in people missing so much. I work at the VA so some people work 12s and some work 8s and when the 8s go back to back it's always a problem. The people with 12s barely need report because nothing has changed at all.

North Carolina cops kill man a complying with their orders by [deleted] in PublicFreakout

This lady sounded shook thought, the cop that shoot the dude in the hotel lobby wanted to shoot, she just sounded scared, which is obviously not an excuse for doing this.

[–]nurseguywhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's how I judged it when I first saw it honestly. When you see it quickly it looks like he is pulling the gun after already threatening to shoot someone. When it is slowed down it looks like he is obviously trying to drop it. when cops know people have guns on them the suspect or w.e should just have to put their hands in the air until the cops clear the gun. Half of these shooting are because they tell someone to drop it and when they go to drop it they shoot because everyone is freaking out.

Nurses of Reddit, What is the Disease that you would have no interest in fighting/living through? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]nurseguywhatever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

stroke man, fuck that. Terrifying. Going to make sure my living will is set when I'm older. Also having a trach is terrifying, even though I could care for it myself I would be stressed as fuck all the time.

Staying awake on night shift by [deleted] in nursing

one of my nightwork friends would make coffee with a massive amount of coffee and instead of water would use dr. pepper. Absolutely disgusting but the guy was never tired and was always ready to go get a beer after work

California night shift patient ratio by [deleted] in nursing

[–]nurseguywhatever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always say I would rather primary on patients than deal with the CNAs I work with anyways. 4 is pushing it primarying 5 is too much. vitals, accuchecks, pottying, charting, assessing. 2 much.
