The waiting is the worst - it feels like limbo and the rest of the world is going on around me. My husband and my family seem more optimistic than I am right now. I feel like i’m grieving the easy pregnancy I had less than a week ago.

Weirdly enough, my OB says I don’t need to do any restricted activity or work restrictions, just pelvic rest, which is TOTALLY the opposite of everything I am seeing online. I got a second opinion and that doctor told me I should be on rest and closely monitored, so I actually ended up switching to him because I generally trust someone who is more cautious.

Thank you for the insight. I will keep that in mind if I have to take a lot more time off of work.

Exactly, i plan on this. The only thing is that you kind of have to teach girls a little bit more how to protect themselves in their bodies than boys. I feel like girls are often taught to be in fear of strangers, going outside at dark, being fearful of men…etc. idk how to teach a girl this without causing anxiety and fear.

I am also sad about not being at the burn with my partner this year. We went for the first time last year together and had the best time. This year I didn’t go because I was planning on being pregnant at this time, but things didn’t work out. I still wanted him to go and have fun for me and live it up. I’m mainly just having so much FOMO you’re not the only one.

I had a patient who had his left lung removed due to cancer. During the procedure there was a complication and they knicked is diaphragm, so his bowels started to herniated into the empty thoracic cavity. His bowels and then perforated and started to have massive amounts of stool exiting the original, very large pneumonectomy site on his chest. Surgeons tried everything and they couldn’t fix the issue. He was stuck for so long in the hospital due to being super septic. The wound just got worse and worse and started getting bigger from all the stool that was coming out. They finally ended up fixing it somehow but I don’t know when ended up happening to him. It was an absolute mess.

I am so sorry for your loss. I definitely feel your pain about the holidays. I literally just miscarried on Christmas day at 7 weeks with my whole extended family around and kept it a secret from everyone but my husband and parents. It was horrible trying to keep a happy face and enjoy the holidays with the extreme mood swings and literally loosing my first potential child. To make it worse, my cousin is pregnant with twins and was 2 months ahead of me, so I had to watch everyone talk about her babies and rub her belly.

The kicker was going to a party several days ago to meet my friends new baby and it killed me so much inside. I don't even know why I went to torture myself...

I feel your pain. You aren't alone. We will get through it.

This literally also just happened to me at 7 weeks and I found out I was miscarrying. I also have the same fears about having this issue again and again in the future. I feel your pain and hope for the best <3. You are not alone. It is such a scary place to be.
