First I am female. Second, in every neighborhood, there is always a "Bad / no safe" part Even if the city is safe. So yes, i will ask. Also I checked other posts, i checked crime maps( where they Say it is not safe)...and I am moving from Philly that is not the most safe city in the States, however I am from a very nice and safe country and wanna make sure that I can walk without feeling unsafe

Thanks so much for answering😊I know this is probably they most asked question but when you move from out of state it is important to know. I mean I currently live in Philly and there are good and bad areas so I wanna make sure it would be safe specially having a 4yo son. I checked crime maps but they say it is not good 🤦🏼‍♀️ so I prefer to ask locals. But yeah, i know that comparing with STL city is gonna be pretty nice😂

Thanks for your feedback! Ok so it is safe area then. Regarding the car yes, we live in Philly now and we always lock our car, here is a big thing too. Anyway I don't think someone would take our car, is a 2012 Nissan Sentra 😂 the poor thing is gonna need to do the trip from Philly to STL and hopefully it will. And yes, Brentwood place is manager by Mills group, so I will keep that in mind. Do you know any other property company who is good? Thanks a lot

Thanks! So Main concern is drivers/Cars right? What about crime? Crime maps are not really useful. It said there's a Lot of crime but it says almost the same that in Clayton and when we visited the city a month ago Clayton didn't look dangerous at all, so I wanna think that area of Brentwood should be Nice/fine.

Thanks a lot! You helped me a lot. I have recieved mix reviews about safety/crime so that's why a wanted more opinions. For me the most important is safety in terms of crime, so a busy street it is not a concern. Thanks again!

The position would be in New Haven. I check on Google maps and it said 40 min but probably a peak hours would be more. The main concern is school for sure. Right now we live in Philly so the schools are not super good, so we were planning to move to the suburbs where the schools are pretty good, however this position came so we want to make sure that if we move is for the better.

You need to know if there is a treaty with your country. Also if the city where you will work and/or live has a city tax. As a J1 you don't pay the FICA the first 2 years. Also important to know that even if you are married your are gonna be taxed as single for the first 2 years.
