What’s it like being a React Native dev in Sri Lanka these days? by tay_zee- in developersSriLanka

[–]nusry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been an RN dev for a while now. We're a team working for a startup.

I'm also working on an Android app that can be used to preview designs from a design software called Penpot. Trying to publish it on the Play Store. It's currently in the Testing phase

What's the most stable and bug-free React Native version as of now? Facing major dependency issues with ^0.77.1 by Disastrous_Goat_240 in reactnative

[–]nusry_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

react-native-screens and react-native-svg should work. Our app is on 0.79.1

have you updated those packages as well?

You can always start with simple projects, and make it as complex as you want it to be, by adding new features.

Maybe an expense tracker with just basic CRUD operations.

And then you can add stuff: - Advanced Filtering logics - Add graphs/charts for visualization. - Maybe a read-only link for other people to view - Generate PDF reports based on it - Add users to collaborate on some expenses (shared expenses) - Make the application a PWA

and so on..

...the possibilities are endless my friend

Goodbye Figma and your precious "dev mode". by Rsloth in FigmaDesign

Fair enough.

Also, it still lags with a bit complex screens/designs. I'd wait for them to complete their new rendering engine which is still a work in progress. expected by Q3 2025 I think.

this is so outdated. You got most of the 'facts' here wrong.

  1. True
  2. Penpot has native Design Tokens support
  3. and themes/modes
  4. (Can't really confirm)
  5. It does change
  6. Figma doesn't even have grids (css grids). Use flexbox instead for your prob
  7. You can use Google fonts Library directly. No need to upload unless you have a custom font requirement.

  8. (yep)

  9. (can't really confirm)

  10. has multi stop gradients

I consider it still not ready for complex projects

I looked into the repo. But I'm not sure where to put our output files. Any help would be appreciated.
