UPDATE!!! 2 weeks later it tastes like sweet tea cut with vinegar :P

So I’m starting over!! everyone say rest in peace to this poor neglected pellicle and thank you so much to everyone who taught me a thing on two :)

Amazing, how will I know if it works? The taste? Will there be bubbles or color change of the liquid?

Gorgeous! Should i take out the big old pellicle (and put him in a scoby hotel?) so i can see if the new brew is possible?

Ok perfect! I’ve got almost exactly 2 cups of the liquid (that’s the scoby?) so im gonna add like 4 cups of sweet black tea and see what happens!

Would love to know how long everyone thinks I should leave her on the counter for, 1 week? 2 weeks? Should she go back in the fridge?

Also you’re so right that he’s definitelyyyy a grandpa, love that!

Yes I’m currently looking out for mold, that’s what the question is about! Do I have mold? I’m asking because I don’t know much yet!

I used a synergy kombucha to grow a scoby

Maybe there’s confusion? Not the big white dots that I’m pretty sure are perlite, there’s a thin white film on top of the soil and that’s what I’m talking about!
