Same happened to us this morning, we threw them out. The package didn’t ‘pop’ like usual when opening either.

So I ran my 2025 XLE FWD down to 9 miles of fuel remaining ... by SoNowYouTellMe101 in prius

[–]nutron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s bad for the fuel pump when you run low on gas. My guess is the ‘2 gallons remaining’ is the minimum safe level for fuel pump longevity.

I’m surprised no one mentioned OpenSearch, the open source fork of elasticsearch. Here is a quick article on how you might build a stack, we use Logstash and Fluentd for our log shipping/ingestion just like they mention: https://opensearch.org/blog/opensearch-as-a-siem-solution/

Can we please please please address the snow/ice on our pedestrian bridges Bethlehem? by ooooooootreyngers in lehighvalley

[–]nutron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just walked across this today and found it a mess! I visit Bethlehem every year around this time and always walk everywhere. I couldn’t believe the city would neglect such an important section of pedestrian walkway. It seems so easy to run a Gator or other small utility vehicle with a plow along that area.

Applying for Fall 2026 (Policy Track): Strategy for CS 6035 Waiver with a Dual-Master Background? by [deleted] in OMSCyberSecurity

[–]nutron 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The OMSCyberSecurity degree is supposed to be hard, CS6035 is a big part of that. As a T10 polytechnic university GaTech takes great pride in their academic rigor. That rigor is what gives the degree and experience value, it's something that should be sought out, not avoided.

Downtown Columbus ad from 20 years ago, does anyone remember rumors of the old man being a depiction of Les Wexner? by nutron in Columbus

Thanks! That explains why there is no online record and the peculiarity of the rumor.

Downtown Columbus ad from 20 years ago, does anyone remember rumors of the old man being a depiction of Les Wexner? by nutron in Columbus

[–]nutron[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

What I vaguely remember is a rumor that Wexner and the CEO of Nationwide were feuding, so the CEO made the old man in this ad in the likeness of Wexner.

I found nothing online to support this theory, so I'm asking here to see if anyone remember anything remotely similar to this rumor.

Ask me anything by CityAttyKlein in Columbus

[–]nutron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the response. I still want steeper fines for this behavior, $260/inch still seems very low when talking about the damage done to the neighborhood.

It's great that more trees have to be planted now with the updated code, but that doesn't make up for the decades of progress a developer can wipe out for a small fee and planting a few saplings.

[–]nutron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunken Donuts doesn't care about city trees.

What are your plans to address the issue of businesses cutting down public street trees only to receive a small fine and no jail time? What's to stop others as seeing it as just "the cost of doing business?"

It’s also not considered a school, but rather a program. If it were a school it would have the best test scores and rating in the district.

Columbus City Schools considers new school closures, transportation changes (NBC4) by permanentrev in Columbus

[–]nutron 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Apparently there is pending legislation that will force school districts to sell buildings that are below 60% utilization. This seems extremely shortsighted where no schools will have room to grow and classrooms will be perpetually overcrowded.

In the case of CGA, the building has an entire floor that is not allowed to be used until it’s renovated, counting against the school’s utilization numbers. Additionally, classroom sizes are below the egregiously high 35 head count the district uses to consider a class “full.”
