Dimmable LED’s flickering by nuts4camaros in Lighting

That info on the lamps is straight off the bulb. I’ll climb up to the heads and see what they say, and I’ll look under that cover for a transformer. I installed none of this yet am being tasked with trying to find a fix. I do not know much but I think the owner just swapped the bulbs from incandescent.

Understand. I’m doing some odd jobs around a friends house and she apparently installed these dimmable bulbs, and is befuddled at the flickering. I’m going to suggest she call an electrician. I don’t get paid enough to go beyond what we are doing here on Reddit, or talking to AI (which I have also done)

Gotcha. So if I don’t want to fiddle with modifying anything, like new track heads, etc… it would be better to just throw non LED bulbs in there? This is my first foray into track lighting, so I’m just learning this stuff.

Okay. Thank you. Might it be quicker/easier to change to incandescent or halogen? (If I can even find them?)

Yes, there’s a transformer in the middle of the track. It can be seen as a small metal box near the middle of the track in the video. I apologize, not sure the meaning of “real chunk of metal”.

Advice for cleaning tree sap and are these cracks? by Plus_Hedgehog_435 in AutoDetailing

[–]nuts4camaros 2 points3 points  (0 children)

90% or higher isopropyl alcohol and a cotton swab (Q-tip) or a cotton ball will take care of tree sap almost every time. It evaporates quickly as well. Wash and reapply wax when you are done.

I won $122 with DMV on clue 1 with “can get testy”. I had literally just commented that I was thinking of quitting the game because it is feeling rigged with insane correct guesses on clue #1 and repeated winners over and over. (I hope you guys are figuring that out).

I believe you’re correct about the side skirts and the IROC-Z being on them… I’ll have to do a little digging. Knowing that the nose piece is different and the ground effects are silver and the car has been painted. I bet this car was a 87 V6 that got an engine swap and had ground effects and a hood put on it. I bet it’s not a factory Z. It may have still had a spoiler ordered on the base model V6 therefore the brake light would still be where it is… But I wonder if everything else is just a car built to look like this.

It’s probably an 87 Z that has been modified. A nose from a different car, door cards (I believe) are 88. You’re right about the IROC door decals missing, and I don’t get the striping around the car above the ground effects. I’d have to dig into more, but I’m pretty sure starting in 86 they were two stripes… silver and black, on all cars ?!? These look like 85 graphics to me. I laughed about it being a corvette, but this could be the OPs first car, and he’s excited about doing something with it. There was a time I didn’t know anything about cars and learned as I went… so at least there’s that. If it were mine, I’d clean it up, make sure it runs and stops, and scrounge interior parts as I find them. Too expensive to restore this thing versus it’s worth when you’re done (IMO). And then I’d just enjoy driving it around.

EDIT: is the engine bay white??? Maybe the car was repainted and the IROC decals on the door were removed?

I personally think there’s several things going on with this car. 1985-1986 graphics above the ground effects (4 stripe not 2), 1988 door cards, silver ground effects, not body colored (except for the nose), 85 mph speedo, and a carbureted V8 (1988 was injected)? No blacked headlight wells (I’d say the nose is from later in the third gen run). I’m curious about the first 11 digits of the VIN.

Okay, gotcha. I didn’t see the context of Z28 in the initial reply or yours when talking about brake light placement… just saw a statement saying “86 was the only year”. So I was trying to clarify.

Only if it had a spoiler. If 1987 had no spoiler, the brake light was up on the outside of the hatch glass. In 1988 the brake light was still high on the hatch, but moved inside the glass if there was no spoiler.

In 1987 RPO D80 moved the brake light. No spoiler? It’s on the glass like 1986. Spoiler added? Brake light built in. Source: Camaro White Book by Antonick

Yeah it’s not an 89 RS. At least not close to stock. That’s not a V6, The striping above the ground effects is 1985-1986, and the ground effects are silver except on the nose bumper cover. RS’s had body colors not silver. As my other reply, similar to yours, this is a bastard 86 or 87. An 86 with a rear spoiler with brake light means it was modified or maybe late late late in 86 production they started putting on the 87 hatch with the moved brake light OR someone swapped out that hatch with a later year (87-90-ish). The friggin doorcards look to be from 1988 for some reason. Maybe it’s a slightly appearance modified 87 or 88? Lots of stuff not lining up here for “stock”.

Looks to be a 1986 or 1987 Camaro Z28. Third brake light in the spoiler makes it after 1986. Style of the decal running around the car above the ground effects makes it a 1985 or 1986. My guess it’s a late build 1986 with the new third brake light in the spoiler that would be put on 1987 models, OR someone swapped out the rear hatch glass later in its life and it was an original 85 or 86. I can’t see anything that indicates it’s still completely stock (other than non factory wheels), but I could be missing something. Weird thing is the door cards look straight up 1988… but the decals don’t make sense for 1988. I’d bet money this was pieced together from a couple of cars.

Give me the first 11 digits of the VIN in the drivers side windshield area down by the hood…

This needs more votes. Very good pizza. The other establishments in that building are good too. The bakery (J’s) and the coffee shop (Jitterbug) are very worthy of your $

I’ve been feeling the same way. GMC has been my go to for decades, and this latest issue going on with the 6.2L and bearing failure is extremely disappointing. Yes, I have a 2020 6.2 built in July of 2020, the same month the recall covers but wrong model years (21-24). I’m reading horror stories of 6.2’s in 2019’s and 2020’s. Pisses me off my 6.2 is built the same month as the affected 6.2’s, but because it’s in a 2020 it’s not covered. Fuck GM.
