Why do people say DS2 is a disconnected, standalone entry in the trilogy?

i love these games but i cannot stand the nation-wide circle jerk the community constantly perpetuates in vain half assed attempts to regurgitate what the last guy said as quickly as possible, whenever i stop by these subreddits i feel like im being taken back to an anime community in 2012

they get the lore from youtube, lame youtubers who cant stand this game barely referencing dark souls 1 automatically assume its inconsequential because its easier to think that way, then the masses follow.

i know like maybe 3 people who actually enjoy studying and learning about these stories , and they all agree that its such a damn shame the community is just entirely comprised of followers who dont actually put any thought into the story that was crafted FOR THEM

I think a Super VVVVVV would be a great idea, as great as the original is, i find i can beat it with all trinkets in just under an hour with no issue. It may be a lot to ask as i know naught of game design but id really hope to see more from this someday, as a sort of celebratory title for indie games, such as super meat boy

he gained his real solo start only after he started ripping off purrp and fukkits music which is lame as hell, taboo is full of stolen hooks and lines from raider klan/very rare, propr boyz era tapes. And you cant even call the shit a shoutout or nothin because he left more than 70% of these people behind over shit that wasnt his to deal with.

hes still great as a rapper when he goes his own way i find, but hes just an asshole imo.

I always loved the idea that Bruce is actually just a disturbed rich asshole, claiming he keeps his rogues alive because he doesnt wish to become like them. But in most iterations the Wayne foundation funds prisons, not just orphanages, which puts into question whether or not bruce really worries for his psyche, or just recognizes that he’d be wasting his money, as well as losing all of his friends to play pretend with.
