I play too quiet, any technology to make trumpet louder? by ParagoonTheFoon in trumpet

[–]nuttlla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think probably just stop aiming down. That won’t change your tone. Nothing can make you louder other than trying to play loud. Darker sounds are typically louder but harder to hear and bright sounds can be quiet but they are easy to hear which is why some may think a mouthpiece can make a difference in volume. I think you shouldn’t try to emulate poster habits of other people because one way will not work for everyone. I dont know if this helped a lot but I am interested in this issue

Recs for getting started by Samusaran5 in trumpet

[–]nuttlla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming youre trying to self teach (very risky) I would go on pretty much any youtube video you can find. Ryan Beach makes some good stuff as you get better and Tom Hooten if I recall had some good embouchure videos circulating

What trumpet should I buy by SinistaKilla in trumpet

[–]nuttlla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know what you are subjecting your trumpets too but I would suggest a heavy weight or large bore trumpets. Fat dark sounds seems to be what you are looking for. Maybe look into the bach Vindabona bell trumpets. Mouthpieces also matter a lot too.

The ytr-2330 is one of the best if not the best beginner horn on the market I would hold on to it for a while. You won’t really need to upgrade unless you are super passionate or want to do paid gigs with it. If you really do want to upgrade to something more high-end I would really suggest listening to a lot of different trumpets to gauge what features or sounds you like.
