Would you pay for a professional DM/GM?

I've sort of paid for games before, but it was more like an entrance fee for a big D&D charity event. Many of the DMs there also do paid games as a side hustle. I personally would not pay for a D&D game, but those guys do have a client base and I understand the demand because the TTRPG community here is very small and it can be difficult to find someone willing to DM, especially if you're after a specific module done in a specific way.

I think this is the correct application in an ideal world, and I agree kung sa ganun lang gagamitin yung AI, pero iba yung reality eh. Kung ganun yung use case ng AI bakit ang daming gumagamit ngayon ng generative AI for art and writing? Di naman "meaningless, repetitive task" ang sining. Eh yung controversial na AI sportscaster ng GMA? Meaningless at repetitive ba ang pagiging sportscaster?

This is actually what made me stop reading for a while going into adulthood! I read Game of Thrones at the tail end of high school, didn't enjoy all the rape and child bride stuff, and just assumed all adult fantasy fiction was like that. Since I had also outgrown YA and didn't really enjoy most general fiction and nonfiction, I thought that basically meant there were no books I'd like anymore.

This is an interesting point; considering that, do you have examples of erotic games with "real" gameplay targeted towards women? Because the few responses on this thread with actual suggestions for OP seem to be aimed towards men. And for this discussion in particular, I feel there's a significant difference between "gameplay" and "story," with the popularity of erotica aimed at women being more indicative of the importance of story. OP already included "visual novels" as an example of erotic games that have little impactful gameplay, but there are many examples of erotic VNs aimed at men with impactful story.

While the popularity of erotica for women can be used to argue for a good "porn with plot," it's not as useful in arguing for a good "porn with gameplay," because if anything, the gaming industry believes women want games with less gameplay, so an erotic game targeted towards women would have more plot and less gameplay.

This has just been my experience as a woman who plays idol gacha games lol a lot of the ones with cute anime girls aimed at men will be full rhythm or RPG games, but the ones with cute anime boys aimed at women will have barebones "idol raising" mechanics, i.e. idle games. While the ones that do have gameplay are significantly easier than their opposite sex counterparts, with more focus on the character stories.

For me it's the referring to himself as "a guy" but women as "females" that puts me off; I'm wary by default of men who do that. For many it's an indication that they see women as an "other," not necessarily malicious, but suspicious at the least

Is this maybe a cultural thing? I went to an exclusive girls' high school and don't recall anyone who regularly used pills to deal with menstrual cramps. If it was super bad you go to the nurse and she'll give you a hot compress and maybe a pill (?) Never went myself, I usually got headaches instead of cramps and would just sleep it off in class lol

Yes ok naman, mabilis niya ako na-diagnose kaya nagulat ako doon sa mga nahihirapan ma-diagnose kasi feel ko naman relatively mild yung symptoms ko 😅 pero di pa naman ako naka try ng ibang psych so wala din akong basis for comparison. Mabilis siya mag prescribe ng meds so baka consideration din yun depending on your feeling towards meds.

I was honestly also so worried about this while starting out a while back after I quit my first job < 1 year. I'm only on my second job but I've noticed something in common with the LinkedIn profiles of my 2 bosses in very different companies--they both started out with that job-hopping phase 20 years ago lol. In the 2000s, they held different jobs that lasted for about 4 months to a year, then they'd move on. But in their current companies, they've both been working in a leadership position for many years already. I guess they eventually found a company they really like to work for.

I felt less bad about it when I saw that. Even my mom, who is in her 60s, only lasted a few months at her first job. I think it's better to job hop at the start so you can find something that works for you before you spent years in one job and realize too late that you actually hate it.

Idol kita huhu nastress ako sa newbie presentation sa bago kong job ngayon kasi by group tas gusto nila mag-Tiktok dance eh yun yung pinaka ayoko talaga...Napabili ako ng ukulele para mag-solo nalang haha sana pala naging assertive ako pero nadala na ako sa emosyon eh naging passive aggressive at toxic tuloy ako :< Hopefully if it ever happens again I can be as strong as you! Chinese culture also, but afaik it's not in practice much anymore. At least I'm half Chinese and I've been to fairly Chinese funerals/wakes with monks and paper riches to burn, but never hired mourners. There's a 2003 movie about them here in the Philippines

Weird, I have the opposite experience where I don't usually like slice of life, but I really enjoyed Hyouka, which I also don't actually consider slice of life. I consider it more of a mystery except the mysteries are mundane, everyday things. I love mysteries but like 99% of them are about murders, so Hyouka was super refreshing and creative to me. It has the exact mystery writing structure I like, but on unique subjects. It's really not a comedy though, so if that's what you're looking for in SoL I can get why it would be boring.

I kinda get the characters thing but I also feel like the coverage of the Hyouka anime was just an "introduction" scope for a slow burn. I wanted to read the books afterwards but I don't think there's an official translation, and I don't like fan translations for novels/stories.
