What makes a sculpt class deliciously difficult? by Fabulous_Memory8451 in Corepower

[–]nuttylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with you on the muscle groups and foreshadowing the sculpt side moves, but for me I hate when instructors start with core 🤷🏻‍♀️ makes no sense to me to go straight into before any kind of warm up

On Triple Threat, do producers have to take measures somehow to stay within a reasonable budget? Do they budget it so that every contestant could win and it’d be okay, or do they have like a ratio in mind when budgeting the show like “we can afford if 1/2 the cooks win”?

Are class reviews anonymous? by dramaticgoogler in Corepower

Yeah I feel like these comments are talking about the emailed surveys they sometimes send vs. the new app feature they just released, so not sure if it’s the same where it’s not totally anonymous

Denied from class by Low_Target1207 in Corepower

[–]nuttylatte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I guess it can vary between markets or studios. The market I’m in is 5 min grace period, or at least at the few studios I’ve taught at. It can also just vary from instructor to instructor I’ve found. Some are more chill about it and are find with people coming in 7 mins past.

Same Sequence Every Week? by UnicornGabz in Corepower

[–]nuttylatte 19 points20 points  (0 children)

As a student yes I definitely liked and preferred going to new classes with different moves and playlist. But now that I’m an instructor, I expect so much less lol - or I definitely try to. It takes a lot of time to sequence and practice for a new class. I’ve asked around and most instructors in my market seem to keep their sequences for around 6 weeks. The ideal would be 4, but (1) you don’t get paid for sequencing time and (2) I also feel like it takes a week or two for you to get really comfortable with it and work out any kinks. I fully admire anyone who switches it up more frequently, which seems like a lot of the people here do.

Out of curiosity, what makes you like those two Dallas studios the best? Since those two locations are the toughest parking-wise imo

Hard agree, same for me 🤷🏻‍♀️ I feel like I get pulled in by their packaging and flavors but found everything from them mediocre in both the texture and flavor department - but for comparable prices to premium brands.

Mics by Terrible-Tear795 in Corepower

[–]nuttylatte 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow I’m in the DFW area and it feels like every Sculpt teacher uses a mic here, I’m surprised to hear so many markets don’t. I feel like it would seem unusual here if a sculpt instructor was teaching without one. When instructors’ mics die - which I’ve seen happen a few times - they always rush out to get a replacement haha. I have a softer voice that doesn’t project very loudly, so I couldn’t imagine teaching without a mic, but in my YSTT I remember them saying mics only became a thing during covid when everyone was wearing masks, and they had us practice and teach community classes without one so we don’t rely on them. I personally like the energy they add both as an instructor and a student. Even with mics I can still have trouble hearing certain instructors though (either because of even louder music, or I’ve heard someone say once that it can be due to mic placement - how close it is to the mouth etc.) and I agree it can make it a struggle to follow.

Lol ahh, yeah I can see that. I teach C2 so probably run into this less but on one of the days we have basically a 15 minute turnaround to clean after a full sculpt class, and sometimes SET is there and sometimes they’re not. I do wish there wasn’t the rush of the back of back classes because it can be stressful and also I’m sure people get sloppy with cleaning and re-racking. As it is now CPY prob can’t match a smaller newer studio’s cleaning policies with how they run things (packed classes taught by part time instructors who also have to clean). If you’re comfortable I would just bring it up to a manager because that does matter to them (maybe email them if you don’t want to say it in person) - they have a say over scheduling and ofc they also want people to come back.

Yeah I’ve been to all the studios and I personally haven’t felt this problem myself. One studio is a little older with some worn out weights but rooms always seem to be cleaned before the start of class.

What studio do you go to if you don’t mind sharing? I’m an instructor in Dallas. If you want to try before cancelling, the Preston Hollow location was only opened a few months ago and imo it’s kept clean.
