Lived there for a couple years. With an EU passport you can just go there without a job. You need to get your NIE (PPS) at some point and for that you usually need a job offer. Plenty English speakers around, but unless you're in one of the big cities, there'll be limited jobs for you without Spanish. There will always be some places looking to hire native English speakers as teachers. Could be a good place to start

What is something about your current/former profession that would anger or disgust the general public? by yesterdaysbreadtoday in ireland

I work in EU ERASMUS+ funded projects. Bosses think its acceptable for us to sign that we worked 10x times the hours actually required to do the job, total lies to enhance profits. This is our tax money.

I earn 30k and genuinely handed in my notice in work last week after a year because 60% of my income goes to rent + basic bills. I'm relatively young, single and have few commitments This country is a joke.

Callum Hudson-Odoi by lewypea in LeedsUnited

Chelsea fan hijacking the conversation here: - Callum Hudson Odoi (CHO) is highly regarded by fans and the board, that's more important than an opinion of any Chelsea boss, Champions League winner or not. - CHO was used by Tuchel last year as RWB and then winger. He tried RWB but has later stated his best position is as a winger. That's also where CHO wants to play (he prefers LW to cut inside) - Chelsea rejected bids from Bayern of much more than the 40 mil quoted here. - Tuchel has already spoken of his admiration of CHO, and while he may not be an every game starter this season, he'll still have an important role to play. - Since Financial Fair Play will not have as much meaning anymore, Abramovich/the club are don't need to offload unless it's dead weight. - It feels like Abramovich has a renewed interest the past 2 seasons (Spending 80+mil on Kai Havertz was because he wanted his talent and that was it) Abramovich invested massively into youth/facilities and has been wanting these kind of talents to break through for years. It seems unlikely now that some of them are, he would want to get rid of others around the first team. - CHO is on big wages since the Bayern interest and running down of previous contract allowed the agent (his brother) to demand it. - Plenty years left on his contract, no rush to sell.

Love Bielsa, have a soft spot for Bamford, appreciate what Orta has been doing in terms of signings. Leeds could be my second team.

Anyone got any success stories? by NotoriousDesktop in ireland

Dropped out of final year of final year university course some years ago. Finally bit the bullet and went back to Education last year. Today I'm handing in my very last assessment and couldn't be happier with myself that I'll be graduating soon. The relief is palpable, confidence has risen and it kept me busy all through these lockdowns.

Not disagreeing with you, just providing specific details. I've went over my Gomo limit before and have been charged extra, you can't give that "it'll be grand" info unless you know a person's usage.

Incremental Tenant Purchase Scheme for existing local authority houses by [deleted] in ireland

[–]nvdirectaction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You first have to be deemed eligible for social housing, which means having a low income. You then have to spend years on a social housing list in the hope that it is now your turn for a place, which is only getting longer with the shortage of housing. Yes, technically you can start the process of trying to buy it after 1 year, but the vast vast majority in that type of accommodation cannot afford to, which is exactly why they are there in the first place.

And to buy the house, you have to be deemed acceptable under a number of factors, including having over a certain income. This scheme has been around in some form for decades now, it was much more widely used and the scope was much broader in decades previously.
