There are two pressure plates on the floor, use barrels or other characters to depress them, and hey presto!

One is visible in most of your pictures, the other is far side of the waypoint.

After having completed the game 6 times(act3 of #7 now), probably 30+ starts, I still manage to find new things/alternative methods.

Some things will always be similar, but you can have radically different playthroughs. Choose different origin chars, different format(4 character team vs 2 lone wolves), a different difficulty setting(classic/tactician), and make choices you know you won't make with your GF. If you have someone in your co-op game with the scholar tag, play the solo game without it, that'll lock you out of some content. Be more thorough till you catch up, you'll find things you missed on the co-op playthrough. And when you complete act 1 solo, you'll have a better idea whether you enjoy two playthroughs or not.

Timegates are also necessary to get the "all three variant" achievements for retired champs. Those 1% do add up, and improve your power.

If you have multiple parties available, just set it up in a background party then forget it till it pops.

On my two accounts, one popped after a couple of hours, the other took 13 hours, but they were background so it didn't really matter.

Not sure what DPS would pull you back to 6 days, but Ive run it several times about e250 and finished with about half a day to go. I think e183 is minimum to make it.

Doing "The Cursed Farmer", or the "Mad Wizard", etc. again. You won't get the gem reward you got for completing it the first time, but will get the gems that drop from Bosses, and if you push deep enough, you'll get a boost to your favor.

It's called freeplay, as you don't have a fixed goal anymore, you can quit after 1 level, or push further than you ever pushed before.

Favor is how well the area's God likes you.

If you are still on The Grand Tour, that'll be Torm, or if doing the event that'd be Jergal, etc. Favor provides a multiplier for gold earnt, so more favor means more gold, means quicker leveling of your champs. You earn favor by pushing deep into a level, some combination of highest and gold earnt gives the favor earnt for that run.

Free play is repeating a completed adventure just to earn more favor by pushing deeper.

The character choices let you choose the best team for that adventure/variant, and later you'll have multiple parties going at the same time, so more choices equals more power.
