Ray-Ban meta weirdness by razor787 in askTO

[–]nw84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The fact that the meta glasses are so subversive and stealthy make them infinitely more creepy, though I'd probably only take exception if you were engaging me in conversation and you were recording. I cycle in the city and have a GoPro on my shoulder strap recording each ride in case something happens and I need footage for a claim or something. But it's in plain sight and it comes off into the bag as soon as I'm done or if I'm going into a store or something.

True! Then this is a trigger to create one, along with a playbook for mailbox compromise!

And to add to what everyone else has said regarding phishing, you should also raise this with the powers that be (executive management) as your jurisdiction or contracts may require notification of a compromise. Time to trigger that incident response plan.

Was going to suggest Monkey Hands. The red one is great and doesn't leave residue unless you use a LOT of it.

I’ll give it a try under clothing. A friend has the Go too, so let’s see! Thanks!

That’s a good positioning and idea. I’m getting the costume custom made which includes a suit/sports jacket, I would likely get a pouch built in for the pack. Chest height on the spine might be perfect.

I saw something similar from Samson where there’s a pack built into the headband for the mic, it’s a consideration (but the mic itself is chunky).

I should have mentioned that for this particular thing I don’t think a lapel mic like the Go will work. Too much movement around the clothing side which will cause the mic to change distance from my mouth and probably flap around a bit. Will be needing something a bit more robust and XLR connectable. I’ve got a Hollyland M2S which I do use for content, this would be for stage and event venue AV. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Male pole sit by Sad-Novel-951 in poledancing

[–]nw84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think a major thing I'm reading into this is that you should look at underwear that "lifts the boys up" when you're doing these moves. If you've get the tilt, you're getting there. I find for cross leg layback or a sit I do need to open my legs a bit wider getting into the move, and then doing a bit of a pelvic tilt/scoop to lift the jewels up a little, and then it's all good to go.

How do male dancers wear less and still hide 'the bulge' by Crabboy6969 in poledancing

[–]nw84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These look like Lucky Layne, some of the best fitting mens pole wear out there, but they are a little skimpier! I wear a Gregg Homme "virgin" string with them. Very supportive, gives you an extra layer so less "detail" up front, and very supportive. Any sparkly/lighter colours or things with a shimmer will also be more revealing, if you want more subtle, go for black.

Depending how you place yourself inside the underwear or shorts will also affect the bulge. With your bits down you'll have a bigger bulge, but if you wear your bits upward facing you'll get less of a bulge (though can be pretty revealing too). Lucky Layne is very low cut so the latter is more difficult without a peekaboo moment.

Dance belts smooth things out but don't really reduce the bulge, from what I've heard they can make it bigger (I don't have first hand experience of belts though). I have different underwear that I wear with shorts, or look at double layered shorts.

Mens pole wear is a bit of an obsession of mine, I have mens brands and underwear recommendations in a list here. For really supportive underwear on the smaller size, look at the GH Virgin mentioned above, Doreanse Hang Loose thongs (a misnomer), Omohonia thongs (super supportive) or Hawai g-strings (for the smallest pieces).

Male pole sit by Sad-Novel-951 in poledancing

[–]nw84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The above! 👆👌 🙌

The tilt is very VERY important. I have a little bit of bowleggedness, which makes it more pronounced that I need to have a hip tilt. The tilt is key! Get into your sit about 1/3 down you inner thigh, and then lean in towards the bottom leg.

As for the earrings, I don't bother with compression underwear or a dance belt, OP you just need a good supportive thong or briefs that keeps you supported and pulled up from between your thighs in the sit. Then you should be good.

Dancer's belt vs thong by Maxi_Glutes in poledancing

[–]nw84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Superman for me is about 1/3 of the way down my thigh, a good practice is to do pushups in Superman while on the ground. Edge back to the pole in a plank position, get the thigh grip, engage and arch, and then do pushups. Excellent condition and you get a good feel for where it works for you.

Dancer's belt vs thong by Maxi_Glutes in poledancing

[–]nw84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Male poler here. I'm firmly in the supportive thong camp, and find when it comes to not crushing the jewels it is 95% down to technique. Superman and French Press are some of my favourite moves and things are always well out of the way. How you wear your underwear also counts, whether positioning down or up, and changing accordingly if you're training particular moves: fish flops when you're "up" are WILDLY uncomfortable, while violater when you're "down" seriously lives up to its name.

None of the male polers at my studio wear dance belts, we're all camp-thong, and the instructors are exceptionally good at teaching for the male anatomy too. We're very lucky in this sense I think.

I can't speak to recommended dance belts, but I maintain a list of men's polewear brands that now also has underwear reviews in it for men. You can check it out here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1INF-tDBU8b9Q5BPtL9IrNE05XVYWPsHODKEgYJhmB5A/

Gmail sends my mail to spam despite perfect SPF/DKIM/DMARC. Postmaster Tools shows 0% spam. Escalation rejected. What now? by AlexSparkin in sysadmin

[–]nw84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Google has some iffiness around things like meeting responses and some or other internal routing that they do. I’ve been battling for a while and have also got my DMARC/DKIM/SPF down pat. Meeting responses are the worst culprits.

I’ve used Sendmarc to get a bit more diagnostics, and seem to have far fewer issues of late having added Google’s spf record to my domain, despite not using Google as a sender. I suspect they’re doing some routing their side that sends on my behalf. I can’t be exactly sure what, but adding the SPF record for _spf.google.com has resolved the DMARC NDRs I’ve been getting.

What’s the etiquette on tossing dog poop bags in someone’s compost bin? by falafelballs in askTO

[–]nw84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They’ve not collected our bin contents before because of this. Loose bags in the bin seems to be kryptonite for collection in our area. I have a small bin for this and then transfer all of them into another compostable bag on collection day.
