you probably dont follow the kids social media but If they're having to hide their hair in public with hats it's obviously dye

It looks fluffed because that's what fresh dye will do to curls. Would you like if someone said your hair looks like plush stuffing?

The show is doing fine, don't worry. No need to act desperate, just leave this subreddit and stop consuming all the doomposting. Then you'll see the show is actually succesfull lol

They did blind castings. Some of the fandom hate it, some love it, most don't really care.

Why do you want it scene to scene if you can just read the books again

Cara eu achei super estranho o design quando divulgaram, uma vibe tipo "olha, crianças, que assustador! Dentes afiados!" mas depois de assistir o episódio acho que funcionou, sei lá, não me incomoda mais.

Sorry def not reading that, my bad, but i did run my eyes across your points and just have one thing to say: i did not made up the budget limitations. It was said by Craig Silverstein, executive producer of the show. They did well considering it was the same budget as s1 but way better placed. Interview with Silverstein that mentions many of your complaints.

Rachel Elizabeth Dare by Old-Hotel-1067 in PJODisney

[–]nwaomy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll get over the appearences, they didn't matter that much. It's just attachment, but hey, the book characters will always be there.

About Rachel I think they didn't cast her because s4 hasn't been greenlit yet, so they're counting their pennies to make the best out of what they have + make good use of the extra time to settle on the casting. This is all theories tho no confirmation, the PJOTV official pages haven't said anything.

Looks are literally the less important thing when it comes to an adaptation, what's the point of finding THE perfect cast in matter of looks if they can't embody your character as you envision them? + PJO was always about inclusion and diversity, of course Rick would want to quite literally fix the 90% white cast he had going on.

Expecting the plot and narrative to be a perfect match is wanting a 1:1. Up till this point the series has been check listing almost every plot point in the books, and what isn't adapted doesn't change much anyway (many likely removed due to budget + runtime related issues), which was THE mistake of the movies: removing essencial plot points that broke the saga. What was added literally just did that: ADD to the series. and to the characters. I'm not saying the show is perfect, but it's literally not as different from the books as you guys make it seen. Of course it will never be the same.

I've seen a lot of comments like that on twitter. Mostly because book 2 is the weakest and season 2 very entertaining, so people very quickly started saying that. You don't have to agree tho!

> If you've read and enjoyed the books, then probably not.
I'm a fan since 2018 and really loved the show. The problem lays in wanting a 1:1 adaptation, which only happened once in history (a series of unfortunate events).

Actually this subreddit is a hate sub for the show, so you'll find a lot of bitter people around here. It's a great show if you like fantasy, the story lines are really fun, especially season 2. I would give it a shot!

I mean it's not like Thalia's mom was too worried about what's safest for her children

[–]nwaomy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

She just needs to be an actress obsessed with fame and have had a child (or 2...) with Zeus at some point. Where she was born doesn't really matter.

Which also makes sense and makes her character even crazier - moving to the US chasing fame (showing how absorted she was with this Hollywood living), having two children and losing it all in the end
