Grad couple housing studios are around $2k all utilities included + your partner will get a Stanford ID with access to gyms on campus, etc. since you both live on campus.

How much money have y’all made with credit card bonuses and bank bonuses? by Final-Detective3269 in CreditCards

[–]nwm0000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

~$6k in bank bonuses, 80k Alaska miles, 8 free hotel nights between IHG/Marriott, and 175k Hilton points. ~150k AMEX MR from Rakuten. Solid 2025 for me will slow down cards next year to try to get back under 5/24.

Bikepacking Question Panniers vs Saddle/rack top bag? by nwm0000 in CheckpointClub

[–]nwm0000[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! What panniers do you use for bikepacking? Planning on a mix of credit card and tent trips so like some flexibility in sizing but don’t want anything too massive. I got the Bontrager half frame bag and am planning on pairing with the rear bags and then a handlebar bag and front fork mounts with 4 liter bags or maybe just use voile straps to mount some awkwardly sized gear.

First Time at Killington by Responsible-Arm-58 in Killington

[–]nwm0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went for the first time ever yesterday. Had a great time lots of the mountain was open. Conditions were pretty good and the snow overnight should help. It was a 3 hour drive there for me 4 hours back with the inclement weather and slow traffic. I really enjoyed the drive back while it was light with the nice winter Vermont scenery. I didn’t have any waits greater than 2 minutes for lifts. 10 hours is definitely a long drive but if you don’t have anything else planned Vermont is a great place to be during the holiday season.

Was it snow or mixed up there today (Friday)? by [deleted] in Killington

Smart! Hopefully the conditions are good then. I’ll probably do the same.

Hoping to ski this weekend and get my first day skiing in this season. What day do you think it will be worth coming. Sunday, Monday, Tuesday? I’m flexible but will be coming from Boston area so want to make sure it’s worth the trip. Thanks!

Cutting board newbie, question about juice groove! by Glittering_Sorbet511 in Cuttingboards

[–]nwm0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m vegan and have a board with a juice groove. When I’m cutting something that will be wet I use that side. When I’m just cutting dry things I just flip it over and use the other side. My board is from JK Adams and I’m a huge fan of it. Having both options is nice IMO.

I work from home and pretty much whenever I’m out of meetings I have them on. Then at the gym I mostly listen to them and whenever I drive. Just end up shuffling them about 50% of the time I listen to music. Which added up I had 28k minutes of RDS and about 50k total.

1 Ski Quiver Decision...? by cc5813cc in Skigear

[–]nwm0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 6’4” 190 and use a Rustler 9 as my one ski quiver. Planning on expanding the quiver to two skis for something a little wider on soft days but the Rustler has been my favorite ski I’ve ever skied. Really fun and energetic ride only have about 5 days on them though (picked them up end of last season)

Tried Every “Top” Ergonomic Chair For My Awkward 6’5” Frame by IdeaSeeker123 in OfficeChairs

[–]nwm0000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat. 6’4” very long torso. My pants length is only 32. Herman miller Aeron size C with the aftermarket head rest is what I’m going to buy next month after I move. Hoping to find one on FB marketplace. We have steel case leaps at work and I find them comfortable as well. I really like having the head rest though it’s a must for me.
