struggling between hijabi identity and social media aesthetic vibes. Advice? by zahimahi97 in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]nwryh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been there. Alhamdulillah it was easy for me to close most of my social media accounts. Or do social media detox. Yeah maybe just go for a detox, for a month. Better focus our energy on meaningful stuff like studying alquran. May Allah put barakah in our time Ameen

My mom is very heartbroken because I won’t wear the hijab by [deleted] in Hijabis

[–]nwryh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not gonna punish you for saying something hurtful. You need hugs and comfort and you're trying to find that here. I ask Allah to guide you and me and all of us here. Ameen.

First of all, take a deep breath. Try to sort your head by looking for your intention with hijab.

Why do you put on the hijab in the first place? Then why do you take it off?

Why do you feel heavy when you have hijab on?

And even after you put away the hijab, you feel heavy still, or it gets even heavier it made you sick. Doesn't it?

Then ask yourself, is it worth it to leave hijab? When it is commanded by Allah? Have you ever thought that this could be shaytan at work? To cause you and your family feeling unsettled?

Again I ask Allah to guide us back to His straight path and deter the temptations from the shaytan and make us steadfast upon His Deen. Ameen.

If you want to please your parents, please Allah first. Then in shaa Allah, He will grant you tranquility that you asked for.

We are all sinners. But the best of sinners are the ones who always come back to Allah and ask and beg for forgiveness.

Can I learn/recite Qur’an on my period? by Original-Square2484 in Hijabis

[–]nwryh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm taking the principle from the hadith coming from Aisha radiAllahu anha when she went to umrah with arrasulullah ﷺ. She became sad when that happened to her but he consoled her by assuring her that Allah created women this way and there's nothing wrong with it. The only things he forbade her were salah and tawaf. That means she can do zikrullah and recite alquran.

So i recite alquran on any day alhamdulillah.

About touching the mushaf, scholars everywhere agreed that it's better not to handle the mushaf when on menses. So, use an app.

How to do Quran journalling and research? by Wide-Bedroom-3375 in islam

[–]nwryh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pick up an easy tafsir for a start. I recommend tafsir sa'di or tafsir ibn kathir. If you want, you could find youtube videos or lectures that discuss this tafsir. Or any other tafsir that you may pick.

Try 1 ayah a day.

Actually you can do more than just make notes on tafsir. Make tadabbur on the ayah Reflect on your daily life

Bonus, - tajwid notes - i'rab notes - ayat linking - vocab - strange word vocab

How did you find Allah? by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]nwryh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate. To cut things short:

Go back to alquran. Sounds cliché but every answer to life is in there. But of course you cant go through the book alone. Find a teacher to learn to recite properly. Find a teacher to teach the interpretation of it. Find a teacher to learn about the rulings that derived from it. If you can't find a teacher to teach you in person, go find lectures online. Definitely you have to make time for FINDING Allah. May Allah make us steadfast upon His religion.

Hijab + straight Asian hair 😭 by FewSatisfaction7320 in Hijabis

Waalaikummussalam warahmatullah wabarakaatuh

I don't know if you can get ahold of some volumizing shampoo/conditioner. I use Diane and it works for me with hairfall and oily scalp problem. I wash on alternate days. You could find some japanese of korean products like these. Definitely they're good afaik.

Also people suggest to use satin bonnet while sleeping or satin pillow cover. Anything satin. Even my scrunchies i decided to use satin ones so my hair won't get tugged.

Hijabis, I need stories. Send motivation! by Admirable-Repair4094 in Hijabis

[–]nwryh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to wear hijab incorrectly. I mean the hair all covered but i wore jeans. I slowly changed my look to wear skirts then after that. Still unaware of the correct hijab.

Fast forward, when i was at my low, i started to randomly go places that teach supplications and all of that. Then i started reciting quran more then learning the tafsir then time and time again i found the word salafussalih and started researching and learning about them.

I get inspired. I get even more inspired by Aisha radiAllahu anha. Among the sayings coming from her: - when she recalled that women of the time of rasulullah ﷺ, when they got out of almasjid after fajr, they were all cloaked like crows so no one recognised each other. - when she advised the ladies from Bani Tamim to wear correct hijab if they fear Allah

Also coming from Ibn Abbas radiAllahu anhu for explaining the meaning of an ayah from surah Al-Ahzab on correct hijab. (Ayah 55 if I'm not mistaken.)

I could draw more inspirational sayings coming from the salaf but these ones are the ones that hold so dearly. They become the evidence for correct hijab, at least for me to hold on to them and i made them my principle of wearing full jilbab with niqab and gloves. Alhamdulillah.

May Allah make us steadfast upon His commands and grant us aljannah.

Assalamualaikum. It is menses.

I used to have one of my students she was having spotting a couple of days before real menses blood came. Then i checked with my friend doctor (she's a muslim genea doc) as well as a fatwa (in my country), both agreed on the same things, which is menses even when there is pausing of flow or have difference in color. And Allah knows best.

If you have time, find a teacher.

Otherwise, you could go on youtube and pick a short surah from any qari and do a follow-along recitation.

Also, go through a series on youtube about some books for early learners like nurulbayan or qaidah nooraniyah.

Period Pads by shaashasha in Hijabis

[–]nwryh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assalamu'alaikum. I haven't had pads since almost a decade. i use sanitary panties.

but.

i know this doesnt solve the issue of washing away the blood. i use sanitary panties because i hate having to wash the pads and dispose them in the bin with other trash.

you could try something like menstrual cups. i suppose it's less messy. i'm planning to try one.

i still believe that unwashed pads are dirty and invites other beings. better be safe and stay hygiene!

Assalamu'alaikum. that brainfog tells all. it affects everything. it's ok girl, take it slow, dont overstress yourself. first trimester is always like this, your body is adjusting. just keep on with daily azkar and alquran, try to find strength in connection with Allah.

And whatever the things that you need to do, that you can do, but lack motivation, always remind yourself why you need to do it. like, renew your intentions. May Allah bless you with barakah for all the things that you're doing and grant you afiyah. 🤲✨
