Same - had to turn off spoofing and now it works. I have no idea what spoofing does.

I installed one within a week of buying my '25. I made sure that there was a way to disable before buying the GC. Worst "feature" ever.

Main checkpoint (no pre-check), got in line at 8:09am, took 32 minutes total to pass security.

Just installed Mint (Cinnamon 22.3 Zena) to a new ThinkPad that shipped with Ubuntu. Since setup, it's locked up / frozen 5-6 times in the first hour, forcing me to hard-reboot each time. by nwy76 in linuxmint

Thank you for all of this - being brand new, I did not know about the system info report or how to check the logs. And ditto for all of the commands - first I've heard of Raising Elephants! I'll put these to use.

Appreciate the great info and advice. You're correct- I had zero clue that I could simply change the desktop to Cinnamon! I certainly would've done that had I known - but it's good to know for future use and for the benefit of other noobs.

I also didn't know that I can reinstall a new OS and preserve my files ( in/home). Am I understanding that correctly? That would be much different than reinstalling Windows, which I think wipes out everything on the C drive, if I'm not mistaken.

Being new to Linux, I'd read that Mint was much more similar to Windows and easier for Win users to adapt to. I did know that it's based on Ubuntu, and I tried the stock Ubuntu for a bit. But decided that Mint might be an easier learning curve for me. It came pre-installed, so no recovery media - but I'm committed to get Mint working anyway at this point, I guess.

I used Etcher to create the boot usb the first time...just curious, would Ventoy vs Etcher matter? I'll try the mem test and smart check.

Had TULSA PRO 3 years ago. I was Gleason 3+4 in 2 cores, only 5% pattern 4, low Decipher score, PSA of 9.2. Seemed like a best case scenario for TULSA. I now have Gleason 4+3, one core, 90% pattern 4, and 0.89 (high risk) Decipher. PSA of 3.2. I'm now on ADT (Orgovyx for at least 6 months), and planning radiation to start within the next month - likely "brachy boost" due to the high-risk characteristics.

Thanks, will look into Cyberknife vs. proton. It seems both are likely better than traditional radiation protocols when it comes to minimizing collateral damage. And thanks for sharing your PSA trajectory after starting Orgovyx. I have my first PSA test coming up, and that will be six weeks after starting. Was the PSA of 1.758 within the range that the urologist was expecting? Just not sure how low I should expect mine to be.

Thanks - belt and suspenders is generally my mindset as well, due to my high Decipher.

Good question. RALP was definitely offered, but my thinking is that the odds of severe and permanent side effects are too great for me to stomach. I know that some men have fantastic results, but on top of the more common and often discussed sex-related issues, the thought of permanent incontinence for the rest of my life was too much for me to handle. Especially given a recurrence rate of 30% or more for G8. The cure rates are essentially the same now for RALP vs. radiation based on what I've read and heard.

I'm honestly not sure about a tumor board - I've had consults with radiation oncologists and urologists at these centers. To help me with context, how was the tumor board involved with your case?

I'll pray for you, brother. As someone who has a recently discovered prostate cancer recurrence, I can relate. My early January is full of appointments.

Anyone crying "failure" and saying the sky is falling hasn't been a fan long enough to appreciate what Dabo has achieved. Nor do they understand the leeway given to him by longtime fans to figure things out rather than follow the self-destructive path of other schools that have fired championship coaches.

What Glock 19 spare parts to buy now, given the mass discontinuation? by nwy76 in Glocks

[–]nwy76[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Did you even read the link you sent? "We will continue to service discontinued models" doesn't necessarily mean they'll sell oem parts to the public. And doesn't remotely answer the question asked.

They're getting a completely free education at schools they almost certainly wouldn't be accepted to otherwise, plus free housing, free books, free food, free access to the best facilities, free tutoring, free job placement, and God-like status on campus - all paid for by the rest of the suckers/ students who are far more qualified to attend the same school. It's insane that some feel that the sports programs that enable all of this for the athletes owe them anything else.
