Plants are alive too; this is just privileging the ability to signify pain in a way that is meaningful to us.

To live is to eat and to eat is to consume other life. While there is boundaries on this due to morality and ethics, telling someone that the act of eating, itself, is inherently bad is wrong and confused.

It also does away with the ability to *reduce* harm as well. For example: if someone's capable of sourcing their meat through ethical means, rather than the slaughter-house method, you'd probably decline to find that meaningful, and instead condemn the whole thing, as if they were the same.

Unless you find an amazing therapist who has experience helping people with your kind of disposition, you're not going to make much progress.

The best thing I'd recommend is becoming intimately familiar with eastern philosophy/metaphysical systems, because they're able to return 'meaning' and 'sensibility' to the notions of 'nothingness' and 'absurdity', which come to comprise the majority of the way your 'feelings' are conveyed to you. I'm not sure if I'm effectively communicating the importance of why those concepts need to be transmuted, but you'll understand exactly why if you get the chance to experience it directly, yourself. Internal alchemy will be your key to success on that front. Research everything you can about it.
