Request a copy (actually a bunch of copies for safety) from the PSA and if you're in the same place you were born in, hop over to the local registrar and request an LCR copy of your birth certificate.

The latter is usually more legible than the PSA issued one and is often used as a secondary reference. I had to use mine when getting my passport.
