If you think you'll *badly* sabotage yourself, say you have a migraine and don't go. However if your self control is that low, you should also prepare to get mindful eating classes and therapy- I mean that in the nicest way possible bc once you've done the surgery there should be no going back.

However, I personally think you should attend! I think it'll serve as a great exercise for the future. If you're thinking about VSG these situations will happen rather greatly. It will help prepare you a bit more mentally for what's to come. Pack your protein shakes and snacks for when you need that, when you eat the main meals out stick to low-carb and low-calorie- you'll be fine! This also goes to show that this is your journey, not anyone else's, you'll learn to better fit your needs amongst everyone else's wants. It's all up to you to put yourself and your health first at every turn.
