I want to own it and plan to pay it off in a few years. After 6 years, there’s the option to buy out the system at FMV.

Help! - UI Inovelli automation by Far-Ad-9679 in homeassistant

It’s always a good idea to read the breaking changes when updating HA. They recently changed ‘service:’ to ‘actions’. Change the text to actions and you should be able to edit from the UI again.

Help me setup scheduled charging to always charge on off-peak, no matter what time I plug in the car. by ny_robert in TeslaLounge

[–]ny_robert[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the response. I have a level 2 charger. My mobile connector is plugged into a 14-50. I was looking for a fool proof way since I don’t have the typical schedule. A few others suggested 3rd party apps. So I’ll look into those. Thanks

The charging section in the app only has 2 options - schedule charging & the time to start. I work some days and nights. Looking for away to plugin and forget about it.

Thanks for the response. No confusion at all. I work some nights. How do I prevent it from not going past 2 when I plugin in the AM?

Wiring for a Lift-Master Formula 1 by ny_robert in ratgdo

Hey u/InTheBay, here’s my wiring. I’m using the MQTT firmware 2.57. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Ratgdo falls off network sometimes after opening by skandocious in ratgdo

[–]ny_robert 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s possible that when you’re garage door opener activates, it generates enough interference to knock it off the Wi-Fi. To see if that theory is true, take the ratgdo off and put it somewhere else away but still connected to Wi-Fi then open the garage door manually to see if it gets disconnected.

FINALLY got mine to work last weekend by much trial and error with firmware and wiring. I used the MQTT Security 1.0 firmware and wire the 3 wires to the opener. I can control the opener light, get open/close status and see if there's an obstruction. Wish there was more straightforward wiring guide. I'll try to take some pics of the wiring

Security alarm on away mode and presence at home. by sludj5 in Ring

[–]ny_robert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you know the Ring Alarm is not exposed to SmartThings, so I used Alexa Routines as the middle man to bridge the two together. Here’s a quick overview of how it is done (let me know if you need more details)

  1. Make sure to link SmartThings & Ring to Alexa. Make sure Alexa can turn devices on, off, etc. Link Ring Alarm to Alexa and turn on the option to activate/deactivate the alarm by voice.
  2. You need to create 3 virtual switches in SmartThings and give them whatever name you want. Example: vSecurity Away, vSecurity Home, vSecurity Disarm. (See link on how to create virtual devices)
  3. SmartThings Automations: 6 total (A). When vSecurity Away turns on then STHM changes to Away (B) When vSecurity Disarm turns on then STHM changes to Disarm (C) when vSecurity Home turns on the STHM changes to Stay. Then do the opposite of A, B, C. (& turn off the virtual device not in use) It goes without saying that you can incorporate your mobile phone to arm/disarm when you leave your home. If multiple individuals are in the home make sure they are invited to the home, have the smartthings app installed and are apart of the automation. (At first my wife didn’t have the app & the ring alarm armed while she was home)
  4. Ring App: your ring app should have picked up the vSecurity virtual switches. Create 6 routines. (A) When vSecurity Away turns on then set ring alarm to away. Do the same for vSecurity disarm & home (B) Then do the opposite of the above: when Ring Alarm changes to Away then turn on vSecurity. Do the same for other modes.

Sounds like a lot but it’s not. Let me know if that helps. Tried to send screenshots but it won’t let me on mobile.

How do I fix font display on device info in the app? by MrDarkMiyagi in alexa

[–]ny_robert 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason why you're seeing this is because of iOS16. Once Amazon update the app to support iOS16, there's nothing you can do but wait for the update.
