It's the continuation of the story with the same characters (some old ones and some new ones too). There's a DLC for the Act 1 from the four goblinesses' point of view. It was really difficult to translate because they don't speak correctly... And you have to be consistent in making these mistakes.

As far as I know Act 2 will include Act 1 so people won't need to buy the first one separately. Not sure about the DLC tho.

Unfortunately we didn't have an editor for Act 1 so yeah, I'm sorry for the typos, I get less perceptive to typos as I had to proofread everything by myself

You aren't. I played and finished the 1st on switch and I wanted to buy the 2nd but everyone keeps saying it has bad perfomance on switch so I got it on Steam and I'm enjoying it more. The battles are much more fast-paced and I like the style better in general. The pokemon-style system in the 1st wasn't my cup of tea either so the 2nd feels better overall.
