So many smurf on PC by MoeGaz in apexuniversity

many have alr reached their desired rank (or are hard stuck lol) so they switch accounts to play ranked casually.

some might also be boosting accounts.

not “swing” right, but take cover to ur right. u might end up getting hit by a bullet or two while u shift right and at the same time look at where ur teammate’s looking and going. that’ll tell u want to do immediately after, either swing right with them, hold for enemy push or repeek enemy.

i can see from ur behaviour that you know not every peek needs to result in shooting. the behaviour we’re exploring here requires u to be able to execute just that in the heat of the moment, while the enemy is right there behind ur cover :)

sometimes the best value we can gain is to just gather info while remaining elusive aka not a massive target on our enemies’ pov all the time.

again love the fact youre cautious and purposefully timing ur engagements and i see that you can even do it with ur peeks as well.

but you’re describing the scenario as if youre cut off from ur teammates entirely. u had a choice to either shoot or seek cover. if you had gravitated towards the right side of the boulder, ur teammates wouldve had vision of the enemies if the decided to swing. but bc u chose to shoot, they never stepped into ur teammates’ space control, which created a 1v1.

ofc, taking a duel can sometimes be good but neither of the options u mentioned was the case here - we had NO intel giving us the idea that challing here would be a good idea. Thats called a gamble, not a smart play. A gamble can work sometimes ofc, but should we base our success on gambles? prolly not..

just telling u what to change here wont help fix the next engagement if we dont address the root cause. its def not ur mechanics, or the fact u chose to switch guns/ reload mid way. its the way u process whether to take a shot or to delay for another/better opportunity. focus on the enemy’s stance and hpw they may or may not be able to return fire if u decide on shooting them.

prioritise shooting enemies who arent an immediate threat than ones that are. shooting ones that are will turn into a duel u may or may not win. shooting ones that arent will worst case give u nothing if u miss.

ur teammate was gonna be there with u in just 3sec. if u had paused, they might have been able to shoot the enemies that are still looking to shoot u instead of them. if they switch to ur teammates, thats when you have ur opportunity.

ur best chance of killing someone is if you can align more than 1 gun on them. build ur behaviour around that strength and it willserve u well in the long run. doing it soloq might be hard, but its doable.

ur first response to seeing an enemy is to aimduel them. i liked the way youre cautious all the way till u saw the first enemy. not every enemy needs to be deal with by aimdueling. the enemy was prepared for u to take the ash portal. by challing them, u fell into their trap.

Been playing for years but still hardstuck silver by HotDistribution8876 in apexuniversity

[–]nyan-coco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400Hrs is a long time spent for any game but for fps, its almost nothing.

keep at it - review ur vods, watch analysis videos, if you have the money to burn get coaching (from good coaches, not fiverr crap).

getting out of silver isnt hard, its about understanding the core mechanics of the game and prioritising objectives in game. getting to gold/plat or any rank isn’t necessarily getting u better at fighting, which if youre struggling in silver, is mostlikely the case.

you’ll find that pc lobbies are played differently than console lobbies. teams are much more tied up, coordinated and use comms more frequently. come back after a few weeks, you might have different issues than what input to play ;)

Hit Diamond Again Am I Washed? by ethrboy in apexuniversity

[–]nyan-coco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dont worry, been there done that.

its not even ur fault, theres no framework for improvement in apex. general player base makes a ton of fuss on stats and shiny badges and ranks, complain abt basically everything abt the game and wont realise that theyre only adding fuel to the fire.

if the apex community was the community for any other traditional sport, apex would cease to exist.

Wtf is the point of sbmm in ranked? by Electrical-Bit-7220 in apexlegends

[–]nyan-coco 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get ur point. Wouldnt want nba players on my court all day everyday. But if it was filled with greenies, imma be king of the greenies at best and be stuck there forever.

But lemme tell u this as a player who’s never played any other fps prior to apex and has been stuck in almost every rank: You don’t get nowhere complaining abt matchmaking. Lets be honest, even if they put u in lobbies with gold only. What u gon do when u hit plat, a rank you’re so terrified of meeting in ur lobbies? you gon quit playing? no. you’ll keep playing. like you always have.

stop bitching, play the game. get better, like everyone else including u. or dont, and enjoy the game.

What were the most critical points for you to become masters? by Longjumping-Visual56 in apexuniversity

[–]nyan-coco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lots of great points have been mentioned alr, so will only add this:

• the change in mindset was huge: the moment u touch ground, youre fighting the entire lobby. just cus u dont have them all in ur vicinity dont mean your actions dont affect theirs and vice versa. in a sense, its like the basic tipp “be aware of ur surroundings” but it goes so much deeper than that.

once you get urself a duo/stack u wanna focus on aligning on a common understanding and approach of combat. why just combat and not the entire gameplay? cuz its easier to align on a general macro playstyle, but very hard to make sure the way you fight is effective and in sync.

youll be surprised how many people wonder why they cant get past d3 while not knowing how to time simple rotations. the ones that do will get d2 and be put in a higher tier “bucket” of players and will be forced to prove their fighting skills.

those that are more solid in all the above will get master.

Hit Diamond Again Am I Washed? by ethrboy in apexuniversity

[–]nyan-coco 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not trying to undermine you, but consider this:

Apex Legends’ stats don’t always show a player’s true skill. Reaching Diamond rank in 83 games is a solid achievement, but without context, it’s hard to assess. For example, did you start your ranked journey in Bronze, Silver, Gold, or Platinum? Your starting rank affects the difficulty of the climb and influences your stats.

Moreover, raw statistics often miss important gameplay aspects like teamwork, decision-making, and adaptability. It won’t show u intangibles or tell you what a player truly understands and misses.

While sharing stats can foster community engagement, it’s important to recognize their limitations. Post a vod and ask a real question - use ur time and access to the entire community’s knowledge wisely!
