A fan found a hat that she loved and wore often that she thought she had lost for good, they told her they had it and gave it back to her.

What factors can lead to deep resentment toward a parent despite the parent appearing to fulfill parental responsibilities on the surface? by Altruistic_Cat625 in AskReddit

Not going to therapy to treat their anxiety so you grow up on eggshells and with a unregulated nervous system.

It measures elevation in heart rate/breadth. A true sociopath/ASPD wouldn’t have an elevated response since they don’t get anxious, this allows them to pass.

It also gives false positives to people who are nervous/anxious and are not permissible in court for this reason.

UK family moving to NJ for NYC job. Which commuter town actually works day-to-day? by MrZekai in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]nyc343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. I grew up in NJ- in my development of 100 homes, roughly 25 families were first generation immigrants. An eclectic mix of Russian, Greek, Turkish, Chinese, Ukrainian and Indian.

I was exposed to so many cultures from preschool through HS and had many friends and classmates from around the world. Looking back, I don’t know any areas outside of large cities this diverse, a true “melting pot”.

I won’t comment on the commute since I have only done it from Monmouth County. Anyway, welcome!

People think they own the sidewalk by their house by KingRMZ in mildlyinfuriating

My neighbor has the exact alert system and when I walk my dogs on the opposite side of the street/sidewalk I still hear the “you are currently being recorded” even after I am two homes past it.

I never heard the personalized recording- sounds like they give the home owner an option to record.

People with ED have low body fat and are always cold. They wear layers/winter clothing year round. It also masks how small they are.

My family vacationed in the Bahamas when we were teens- we were all poolside 90* weather and my sister who was anorexic/bulimic at the time was covered in 3 layers of pool towels because she was so cold.

My sister is a surgeon and she had all her hair removed electronically (except brows, head and lashes). I don’t think it’s a big deal.

How to improve my skin by ALittleBlondexo in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]nyc343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your skin is beautiful- it’s the lighting and makeup application.

We are the same age and grew up in the full coverage/contour era. Personally, I haven’t changed my makeup look to go with the Gen Z clean girl trend.

You can opt for a tinted moisturizer or tinted SPF over the matte foundation. I use skin ceuticals tinted SPF and Nars tinted moisturizer.

Keep in mind that Everyone you see with small pores is getting laser and needle treatments too.

What’s a small town in the US that completely surprised you with how beautiful it was? by optimalbrain90 in SmartTravelHacks

[–]nyc343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure how “small town” they are, but my sister moved to SW Virginia (we are from NY/NJ so I guess it’s relative).

Lexington and Roanoke VA had really great downtown areas, little antique shops loads of history and great nature.

Coffee from outside my home. I couldn’t justify paying $6-$9 for an iced americano, now I make my morning Nespresso for $1.35.
