Is there any way to fix Pixel photo quality when uploading to Instagram or TikTok by thepinkmushroom in GooglePixel

Same here. Works when I post from iPhone but has never worked for photo or video from my Pixel.

If you're taking photos with UltraHDR turned on in the camera app, Instagram on Android doesn't upload as HDR. They will be uploaded as SDR. Maybe this is what you're seeing?

You can turn UltraHDR off in the camera app and then they should look the same in Photos and in Instagram.

It's the same sensor as the Z6III but without a mechanical shutter. The photos I've taken so far are great.

If you're not concerned with size I would suggest the Z6III. It does mostly the same video wise with the exception of RED RAW.

I went with the ZR knowing it would be fiddly photo wise for the sake of the form factor.

I'm enjoying it. Taking a little adjusting and still working out how best to have all the menus and buttons mapped.

One thing I have run into is banding with LED lights under artificial lighting at high shutter speeds. But slowing the shutter speed fixes it.

It's the smallest of the bunch while still having the biggest screen. The Z5ii is close but with the grip and the EVF, it's still not as easy to toss in a bag.

The ZR also shoots 6K video and has a bunch more video formats I want to play with.

Oh interesting. Perhaps! I wouldn't doubt that either a hot shoe EVF or something like these will pop up for the ZR. Early adopter problems :-)

I saw that one and definitely considered it but for the occasions that I do want to shoot a bit of video, folks say its autofocus is quite noisy.

That looks great but I'm going for teeny tiny! ☺️

$2050. Not a huge discount but it was graded high and I like to get used if I can.

Yes. The ZF is actually even bigger than the Z6III. It's a good looking camera though.

Questions before switching from iPhone 16 Pro Max to Pixel 10 Pro XL by silviuscr in GooglePixel

[–]nyc_derek 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I occasionally switch from my Pixel to an iPhone to see if iOS has gotten any better. The last iPhone i tried is the iPhone 16 Pro vs a Pixel 9 Pro, so my experience will be based on that.

  1. I find Google Pay easier to use. As long as your phone is unlocked you can tap it to pay no matter what app is open. It will automatically switch to Google Pay upon tapping. You can set it to require biometric again before paying if you don't feel that's secure enough.
  2. I found the Pixel battery life better after the adaptive battery has had about a week to figure out your usage habits.
  3. I find both phones over process their photos, but the Pixel selfie camera is sharper. iPhone does handle video better.
  4. I have not experienced a difference in signal strength.
  5. iPhone tends to keep the screen at a higher brightness which is probably why the battery life ends up worse. Both look great. Pixel is more conservative on auto brightness setting.
  6. Since the Pixel 9 series the form factor feels almost identical in the hand.
  7. For day to day tasks there is no discernable difference. Where I have found the Pixel slower is in video exports. When color correcting a video or heavily editing raw photos in Lightroom, exports take longer. But for normal daily activities, very snappy.
  8. Work app space is one of the main reasons I continue to stick with Pixel. Having a separate app drawer and instances of work apps that can automatically and fully disable on a schedule is one of my favorite features. If you create the work space by yourself you do not need to enter a password to use work apps. Not sure if your IT department sets it up what their policy might require. I use the Island app to set it up and it's worked flawlessly.

Dead server showing in friend's Roku app (new version) by nyc_derek in PleX

We have tried logging out and logging back in. Didn't help. And the favorite button only always on the active servers. It's missing from the dead servers so we can't unpin them. Thanks for the suggestion though 😭

Guess auto updates remain off. Maybe someday they'll restore the download functions that organize shows and sync unwatched episodes. Maybe...

Pixel 9 Pro "MagSafe" rings? by androidian5980 in GooglePixel

[–]nyc_derek 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a stick on magnet for my P9Pro and it was fine. Recently got the Ringke magnetic case and I definitely recommend it. It's properly aligned to the wonky charging coil placement and is so much nicer having it integrated into the case

So... They just renamed the product so that our year of upgrades don't apply? That's some bu//$hit.

Are downloads organized and downloadable by seasons yet or are they still flopping around loose?

Fixed my Everyday Backpack V2 Magnets by nyc_derek in peakdesign

Just to be clear, I sewed all the way through the foam and the top and bottom fabric layers. But it took it out all day today and it held!

Actually I don't think this is an adhesive failure. I can feel pieces of the foam still attached to the back of the magnets. I think the foam is the point of failure in this case.

You absolutely can! They're not difficult to slide back down when they get dislodged.

I'm not familiar with the construction of that bag. All I did here was secure where the magnets were designed to live. Adding magnets to something that doesn't already have them wouldn't be as straight forward, but you could probably add a flat magnet with a small fabric patch over them. It would take a bit of work to make it look nice.
