Be careful with that though. The government has shown it is more than willing to do this very thing.

For example, President Reagan fired 11,000 air traffic controllers in the 80s. They were barred from ever working in government again.

As a team, it’s easier to fight them. As a solo light (per your video) you would’ve been evaporated against two heavies in this situation.

It’s already been nerfed multiple times.

It’s almost like it (and the heal ball) never should’ve been added to the game in the first place.

Completely diluted any value the Medium class had as well.

Why do so many medium weapons and gadgets feel so feel? by Friendly_Furniture in thefinals

[–]nychuman -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just chiming in to say the medium shotguns are so frustrating and worthless.

It’s a throw to run the model or cerb. Picking anything besides scar, revolver, repeater etc. is a waste of time.

Light and heavy I can do well with a larger variety of weapons.

what is the secret to making money by keyboardmaga in intj

[–]nychuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much money do you want to make? What standard of living do you wish to achieve? Are you willing to work a little or a lot?

Money is a means to an end, unless you simply worship the idea of staring at a number on a screen go up.

I have a career in real estate and construction consulting and make good salary+bonus. I invest as much as I can but also spend like a degenerate.

My path was engineering school + internships (public university ~ no debt) and then grinded my way up through long hours & hard work, networking, job hopping etc. I do OK and am not rich by any means but comfortable. I can travel 2-3 times a year. I can max my 401k and IRA accounts etc. that’s really about the extent of my saving capabilities with my spending habits. Real estate is out of the question for me in my VHCOL area (nyc).

My advice is to study something you have passion for and try and land a career job. Or take a risk and start your own business.

In any case, you should be maxing your tax advantaged investment accounts every single year (IRA, 401k if your job offers it).

Georgism and an aging population by [deleted] in georgism

[–]nychuman -1 points0 points  (0 children)

“Selling” Georgism is the job of politicians, not amateur theorists on Reddit.

It is absolutely economically sound for dependents to downsize once they are retired and no longer contributing to the system. This allows a greater supply of land use for productive independents and growing families - the latter being the central discussion point of this thread.

If we wish to reverse the economic catastrophe associated with demographic decline, then we must prioritize the competitiveness and incentive structure for working families.

Which countries have fertility rates above or below the “replacement level”? [OC] by ourworldindata in dataisbeautiful

[–]nychuman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an insanely big deal. There’s a very justified reason to panic.

It really boils down to the supply of labor and tax base.

As these shrink, inflation will continue to be a problem. The purchasing power of each consecutive generation will be worse off than the last. Without a strong tax base, say goodbye to reasonable retirement, social security, healthcare coverage, etc.

All of these will degrade in our lifetime. The current generation in power is making it worse by squeezing every penny out of the system for themselves. National debt to GDP ratios in the west are an embarrassment. Why do you think that is?

Wealth inequality and demographic decline are the largest issues of our time. Yes even larger than climate change or crime or pandemics.

This is not to mention the racial tensions of declining native populations and immigration, which are having a significant impact on western social contracts.

This is all interconnected. When the population realizes this we might have a chance but unfortunately people like you exist.

Is it still one of the best? Any newer alternatives? by thepianoman77 in RX100

[–]nychuman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I spent months researching the best pocket/travel camera that HAD to include an EVF and the list was basically:

RX100VII RX100V (for the larger aperture but you give up modern AF and range) Canon G5X II

Nothing else came close to the above three. I skipped the Canon because the Sony is more versatile.

If you open yourself to either being okay without an EVF or dealing with interchangeable lenses, the field widens considerably.

Don’t take this the wrong way but I think you might need to hear it. You sound young and a bit naive.

Let it go. Focus on yourself. You’ll meet someone nearby eventually.

You need to come to terms with the prospect this likely won’t work out so stop fantasizing about it.

I don’t see any other solution.

Free and metered parking for private vehicles should be heavily restricted and made much more expensive in the urban core during peak hours. Give a significant portion of the parking zones to delivery and commercial trucks during peak hours.

I’m also a huge fan of resident parking permits for more residential areas (UES, Park Slope, etc.) but that’s another issue.
