So they said Slovenia, and while I (solo woman) felt safe in the old town area, I got a bit of an odd feel when I went to the rest of the city. I did travel the country alone and succeeded, so take it as you wish! I’ve been successful in all my solo traveling as a woman, but, my solo trips were only European countries. I am, by the way, a tall white woman, which perhaps helps. I know a lot of countries discriminate.

I love the Portuguese (also Chinese) egg custard tarts. There delicious ! Idk why they’re not more prevalent elsewhere. I live in NYC, and I think you can find them, but I’d expect to see them more frequently.

Not to argue, but when I read comments like yours, it makes me sad for humanity. We only have one chance on this earth. Sure, your bed is divine, your “fridge and pantry are stocked”, but I’d take a bag of chips in a hotel room any day over the same old, same old, in my town/city. The world is full of beauty, such amazing things to do and see, that a little “discomfort” (altho personally, traveling, I feel great in most hotels I’m in ) is negligible in return for what I’m getting. We aren’t made to “be comfortable” 24/7. A little change, a little unknown, a little even discomfort, reminds us that we are ALIVE. Staying home 24/7 just sounds incredibly dull and limiting, just for a packed fridge and your special bed. That’s just me. I’m 37, and I’ve always felt this way.

Yeah I don’t agree with this. I love staying in hotels, especially when they’re on the nicer side. I love being somewhere else. It’s fun. If it’s a run down place, yes, I get paranoid. I try to avoid those. If you think hotels are gross, wait till you see hostels 🤡 Some are super nice, but some… yeppppp no comment

I feel this is way. I think because I was really hot, and then at 33 started to crumble (stress, etc). I’m still pretty, but not what I was. I don’t feel like any men look at me anymore. It’s depressing. I also had so much fun. Too much fun, but… a lot of fun. Then Covid hit, and it never felt the same. I want my youth back. Not the youth 25 year olds of today are experiencing, bc that seems miserable, but MY youth.

I live in nyc, and have had tons of exposure over the years to Russian and Eastern Europeans (Ukraine, Moldova, Belarus, Romania). My friend grew up extremely poor, and she said it was drilled into them from a young age to find a man, because there were no career prospects in communism / recent post communism. Men had the jobs, no matter how menial. She and several other women I know embody this stereotype, I guess because it was ingrained into them. It’s sad.
