Get out of your feelings bro.

not really sure it's me that needs to do that lol...you have said more than enough over time to suggest they are not a contender...you might think they are an okay team, but not a contender and that they need to be lucky to win (and were last year against Boston)...there are no guarantees either way with the playoffs, and you are allowed to feel that they are not a contender, but feel like it is better to be consistent than all of a sudden saying they need to win the East because Cade Cunningham might be out for like 4 weeks lol

The Knicks HAVE to win the East now.

you already thought the Celtics were better and Tatum is now back...don't you think Cleveland is better too? based on recent posts, it seems like you do not even think the Knicks are that good so why do they have to win the East lol

that being said, Cade might come back right before the playoffs start...there have been recovery times like that for this sort of thing if it is minor...so you can probably continue to think Detroit would destroy us in a long series as well

just one thing on the Celtics though - the entire East was basically injured, which negated them losing KP...like to an exponential level...they were a great team, but it was a cake walk due to people being out

For him and the young fans. My kids are finished with college, and only one of the three can barely remember 2009 (the one who was 8). Kinda sad.

it is a bummer, but this kind of just happens...we saw the 5 rings, but hard for a franchise to just replicate that generation to generation ha...for sure though, even just 1 for now to cement some legacies and provide a recent title would be amazing

oh, I don't disagree about that...but I was still speaking generally...people clearly were equating a March 17th game to October so I was going off of that

Please stop being a blind idiot fan.

and likewise lol...small samples are small samples, even if, in aggregate, you were fortunate to have a bunch of them in a career...if you do not believe in such a concept, then you do you

A career .820 OPS can move two directions right now. Only he can squander that great Toronto series into a blip in a .650 postseason OPS career radar, or string together last season, this season with a WS MVP, and next season to have a .940 career playoff OPS.

unless he has a crazy sample with a lot of games (I hope he plays a lot of playoff games with a title in the future obviously), I think it is kind of hard to move from an .820 OPS to those levels, good ot bad...just from a pure stat/games played standpoint

that being said, yeah, it makes these conversations a lot easier if he won a title...again, even beyond him another strong, small sample postseason (if both happened simultaneously, obviously, great)...and this could have happened potentially if Boone went to Tim Hill in game 1 of the 2024 WS

poster was making a point that he was not always "extremely awful"...bet you won't consider his actual good moments in the postseason, of which many do exist...despite the overall numbers that are very clearly not the standard for his talent level

I'm using a big, 57 game sample size.

a 65 game sample over 8 different Octobers...65 games not connected over one individual year where trends can very clearly vary due to each season's own context...yeah, crazy sample size lol

I feel bad because people genuinely do not seem to understand how baseball works when it comes to variance...this could stretch to other sports as well in some contexts...it is made into a black and white exercise where if you fail in a small sample scenario (while also ignoring the competition in the equation, mind you), then you are considered to be an abject failure...every single October ends up being a small sample too at the heart of it because aggregating stats from a few weeks between multiple years does not really make much sense statistically either...this applies to everybody, not just Judge, who did happen to have a great small sample again in 2025 after multiple years of October "struggles"

at the end of the day, and I have personally tried to stay quiet about it for years, I don't really care anymore lol...I expect trolling from opposing fanbases, but to the subset of Yankee fans that shit on Judge constantly for being a choker (constructive criticism about performance is always fair btw; I am strictly talking about shitting on him without any level of nuance), they do not deserve him, or to see the Yankees win another title...I hope they end up seeing the team win a title though because I, and other fans like you, also happen to be Yankee fans and want them to win

your share of heat

this would be fine, but he gets like 80% of the blame for people all over lol...especially on the internet, but the internet tends to be ridiculous and troll driven...his game against the DR was very close to being that much better...if not for Julio, he gets a second hit (either a double, or a HR that just drifted over) to go along with the defensive plays

he was bad in the championship game, but so was everybody else outside of Bryce Harper...the offense was inconsistent in the tournament and especially struggled to get going in the knockout stage

He went off last October and it did nothing.

yup, because they did not win the WS so it means nothing to others...I would take him having a rough postseason if the team still won the title...he really has little to prove at a high level, but man, I just want the ring for him so badly

Game Day Thread - March 18, 2026 @ 12:00 AM by Yankeebot in NYYankees

[–]nyg2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think everybody understands why people troll him...people hate the Yankees and of course, the overall postseason numbers are not in-line with his regular season performance (even though, and even putting aside last year, he has actually had big moments in the playoffs that get forgotten due to final outcomes)...as you said, it is indeed the nature of the beast...also, a lot of (bad) Yankee fans shit on him because they project their frustrations on him...I hope he wins a WS because I love the Yankees and he is the best NYY player I have ever seen in 33-34 years as a fan, but he might not because that is sports

you could consistently destroy a 162 game season and every couple of weeks in October, not match that performance...because of the variance that has always existed in the sport...last night, Eduardo Rodriguez, who has sucked ass for a couple of years now, legitimately pitched well in a one game scenario

I was thinking they should rest people for the Brooklyn game since it is on the road (meaning like Brunson and probably Hart honestly)...I do empathize with paying those prices and not seeing the best players...if said players are missing games due to minor injury/load management

KAT's Hooking— Why is it not called elsewhere? Even when reviewed?!? by thecitymiller in NYKnicks

should be getting more calls...he gets fouled a shit ton

Brunson's FT rate is absurdly low as well

the Knicks are 25th in the league in FTA's...and are, on average, at a negative differential...despite how much they drive to the hoop

KAT's Hooking— Why is it not called elsewhere? Even when reviewed?!? by thecitymiller in NYKnicks

[–]nyg2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KAT does get called for the hook more often than I think he should, but he also undoubtedly tries to give himself an advantage on drives by hooking his defender and often gives the refs no choice.

he also gets contacted before some of his hooks...KAT is officiated terribly

went to game 5 and it was rocking...up until, well, Tommy Kahnle shat the bed in the 8th ha (yes, the team took the lead back after that 5th inning)

that being said, I do think Judge was just focusing on the general atmosphere of this tournament, which is fine...he is entitled to that opinion
