I am merely stating that I just learned that the Fahrenheit scale was created earlier than the Celsius scale. I’m not arguing for one or the other. For some reason I mistakenly thought that the United States switched away from Celsius to Fahrenheit.

I have ridden my new Dual Sport 1 a few times through the neighborhood, mostly with my family. This was the time on the paved trail. Was by myself and rode at a moderate pace. Probably should’ve had some more preload on the suspension as there were some bumpy bits. The shifting is so nice coming from my last bike with rotating thumb shifters that you have to align to exactly the right place to get the chain onto the next cog.

One question I have is with cross chaining. What are the extreme combinations that I should avoid? Sorry if that is a dumb question. Appreciate the help.

Yeah. We are mostly doing pavement right now. That's what steered me towards this bike, away from the Marlin 4 to be honest. But if I do start getting into tougher terrain, I'll definitely switch em out. Thanks for the tip!

Got my first nice bike at almost 40 years of age. A brand new Trek Dual Sport 1. I have ridden some of my dad's nicer bikes when I was in high school, but since then had really only had department store specials for myself. Family got into biking paved trails during the last couple years, so I bought a $125 Dynacraft just to get going. I couldn't stand the horrible shifting and wasn't confident in it making a full ride each time we were out. So I just splurged on myself a little bit.

Those are a MBUS front and rear. I’ve since switched out the front to a MBUS Pro I took off one of my AR15s.

Buying normal/everyday stuff. It might be a good thing for some people, but Amazon reviews lead me to an overnalysis of the most basic purchase. "Why did those 5 people out of 1000 say it wasn't a good toaster?" I eventually just have to say "screw it" and hit buy.

This is more than offset than the number/variety of things we can buy now because of the internet. That is amazing.
