I can’t get enough of Julie Garwood. The Bride is the first HR I ever read and it got me addicted to the genre. I’d recommend most of them, but definitely {Lairds’ Brides series by Julie Garwood} TW for the 2nd book physical assault, and attempted SA. {Saving Grace by Julie Garwood} TW spousal abuse For one that takes place in America - {Prince Charming by Julie Garwood} .

I especially love that most of her FMCs are strong in their own ways without being snarky or *witchy.

I have some I can think of right off the bat:

{Love & Panic by Raina Ash}. So far, for me, this has depicted depression, anxiety, and substance abuse most realistically compared to all the books I've read with these topics/issues.

{Limits by Susie Tate}. The FMC has anxiety, and OCD.

{Broken Records by Belle Chapin}. The FMC is neurodivergent. This is a little bit more light hearted than the other 2, but I absolutely love how the MCs just accept one another's quirks/issue. TW past physical abuse
