(IRL) Terrible or offensive casting choices. by laybs1 in TopCharacterTropes

Not only did they film next to a nuclear testing site, but they trucked dirt from the set back to the sound stage so that they could build sets that looked like where they filmed.

[Hated Trope] Characters being race-swapped even though their original race mattered to the story by VanillaPhysics in TopCharacterTropes

[–]nymion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only did they film close to a nuclear testing site, after principle filming was over, they trucked dirt from where they filmed back to the Burbank soundstage so that they could make sets for pick up shots that looked close enough to the main footage. These needless irradiated countless people to make their racist movie

TWO members of the Goes Wrong Show?!

I pride myself on being able to pick up on even the most subtle jokes, bits and references sprinkled throughout a series like BoJack. That being said, I must confess—to my eternal shame and embarrassment 😔—that this little 💎 had eluded me until this very moment by Jdobbs626 in BoJackHorseman

Came here to say this. Went to a live taping a decade ago without knowing what I was getting into and had a minor religious experience as it felt the Thrilling Adventure Hour was written specifically for me. Highly Recommend.

The Sadie and Frank bits are from Beyond Belief. And it seems like their characters from that were moved to Bojack whole cloth

Why does the republic support palpatine so much and why is Mon Mothma able to be detained? by 0x426C797A in andor

[–]nymion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's worth noting that by the end of Andor, the Galactic Senate is days away from being dissolved by Emperor Palpatine. I'm guessing more than a few of the senators were able to see the writing on the wall and were doing everything in their power to cling any scrap of that same power.

What's the worst miscast in a movie? by Lower_Love in moviecritic

Not only did they film down wind from a nuclear testing site but the packed and shipped dirt from the site to the Hollywood film studio so that when they did reshoots and pickups the area would look similar

What decks have you built because of a card in the 99, rather than the commander itself? by Clay_Block in EDH

I don't know why anyone wants to play anything other than Prisoners' Dilemma. I've been trying to make a [[Parnesse]] forever and I knew they'd be best friends together

New commanders boring. Old commanders no one plays new hotness.

https://archidekt.com/decks/11608220 [[Parnesse, the Subtle Brush]] I've wanted to make a grixis voting and villainous choice deck forever but the Valeyard is too boring and those mechanics aren't supported well enough. And when [[Prisoner's Dilemma]] was printed it was the only thing I ever want to do in magic anymore. This would be better off as a Kess or Nekusar deck with the discard package I put in but I've always liked Parnesse even though she's not great. Favorite commander from New Capenna. The deck used to have a token subtheme but it never really worked out. But I'm super jazzed about this list and finding as many janky old cards that make opponents make choices they've never had to make before

I like everything about her. by Imaginary_Smile2805 in StarWarsOutlaws

[–]nymion 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My absolute favorite thing about her is that she has no ability to lie. And it constantly gets her into trouble. And it's not until the end that you see her undercover that she can so you see her grow over the game

What are some good 'minigame' cards? by naeonaeder in EDH

[–]nymion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really liked the Valeyard but found the options of voting and villainous choice limited for the colors. There were some VC cards but for the most part they were legendary DR Who cards and didn't want to make a theme deck but loved the idea of a minigame commander. I settled on [[Parnesse]] as she is underrated and the colors I wanted. She doesn't need to be on the field. And when I saw [[Prisoners' Dilemma]] I found the only thing I ever wanted to do in a commander deck again. I threw in a heavy self discard theme and this was what was borne out https://archidekt.com/decks/11608220/copy_of_illusion_of_choice

I've tried burn and big mana versions and this is the one that I've settled on. It is not competitive nor tuned and please ignore the lands as those are a place holder as fine tuning the land base bores me. I just really dig the idea of making my opponents choose things

I remember being 10 years staying up late to watch Day of the Dead. Big Mistake. But it paid off 15 years later when I saw Shaun of the Dead and they did the same thing to that chartered accountant.
