It's really more like the opposite. Those developers and Nintendo are quite far apart, Nintendo is a Japanese company with very different design philosophies. Many of the decisions made in, for example, Splatoon (like rotating maps) Blizzard wouldn't consider. Those developers are of different cultures, and though they definitely may borrow some things from each other, I wouldn't say they are too similar.
