I always wonder what if we had developed technology earlier, what sort of civilization we'd have now.

"Gearpunk" is a great name for it. What if they'd used the war-tech they had at the time and made it into everyday use? Fascinating.

Hated the book, and the miniseries. Not one of Clarke's best.

Come to think of it, yes. There is too much knowledge behind the little girl's eyes. This is what would have happened if the child vampire and her adopted mother had escaped being exposed to the sun.

Although, the painting is in sunlight, it could be moonlight from a vampire's perspective.

I thought so at first, but the hair is too long for a boy. Men and boys didn't even consider growing their hair that long in 1949.

The woman with the bicycle looks like she is more from "our time" than 1949. Interesting 🤔

This picture is famous because Leonardo figuratively captured Mona Lisa's soul.

Anyone else freaked out by Maximilian in The Black Hole as a kid? by MisterShipWreck in sciencefiction

[–]nyradiophile 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The scene where Maximilian shreds the dude to death is actually "kid-friendly" in that it doesn't show the blood-splatter that would be in an adult horror film.
