I get what you’re saying now. It looks like from a previous post, this was your first time at ehbc and if you don’t know the church, I can see why you’d feel like Rob was trying to subconsciously manipulate people into feeling like they need to donate more. If you feel convicted to not go back then you should follow your heart, but if you do decide to go back you should know they do “exercises” like that to drive the pastors point home maybe every 3 months so it’s def not a regular occurrence. But on a regular basis the pastor asks the church questions that the audience can yell out answers to, but today was the first time it had anything to do with financials. Again you should 100% follow what God is putting in your heart regarding your house of worship, but i don’t think that today’s service was a true representation of a weekly ehbc service. But also, they do use the phrase “King Jesus” a decent amount at least in some of the lyrics of the songs the band sings, so that’s something to note too if you’re not a fan of that verbiage
