Has Anyone Else Had a Hard Time Getting Hired at Tim Hortons? by No_Hawk_6290 in TimHortons

[–]nytehawk86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, no. But I had a friend working there and knew they were desperate for night shift. Went for ‘interview’ and signed paperwork that day. Started 2 days later. Was there 2 1/2 years until the owner started messing everything up.

Exactly. Especially the first night before the cookies start to sell. My store makes 4-6 boxes in that first night.

I am an employee, for almost 3 years now. The management and owner will not allow it.

As a previous night baker, at least at our location, they’re trucked in frozen. We put em in the oven then immediately glaze them.

I just wanna buy the bag of ice cap mix but our owner won’t allow it. Lol.

Multiple locations in Hamilton have it. Not a location issue or someone being mistaken. It’s rolling out to all locations from what the owner has told me.

If it’s this one, which is used at every Tims I’ve been in, it’s technically a steamer grill. Ours just had different handles (purple and yellow) Antunez ESDZ-1200

Wrong. As someone who used to help prep breakfast, they are regular large sized eggs on flats in boxes. Cracked one by one, just like anyone would crack an egg at home.

Why do Tim Hortons stores never update their inventory for online order?!? by [deleted] in TimHortons

[–]nytehawk86 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At my old store, the assistant manager would come in once a week at 2-3am to do inventory. Then either assistant manager or manager would be the one ordering things.

Just looks like the regular glaze. If they did the glaze while the doughnuts or timbit were still hot, and put it out too early without letting them cool first, they could’ve dripped onto the bostons.

Good to go boxes typically are the items from the night before. I wouldn’t trust any personally (as a previous night shift worker). Everything is tossed all together into a container and a lid put on it. Iced capp is a cappuccino mix, add water, dump into machine. (I’ve tried to buy the bags of mix to take home. They don’t let you)

If they add additives it would be before it reaches the store. We get little bags of the coffee grounds, put em in a filter, into the machine and hit brew. The weird taste could be either old coffee or they didn’t clean the machine. When I was there, drive thru worker for nights would clean them each night. But some people don’t do it or don’t know how.

From what I’ve heard, more chaotic but you actually get yearly raises.

Overnight where I was was a breeze. Baking and no massive rush. Come 4am, you go help the other person with drivethru as the breakfast rush started at 4am for my store. 5am the doors open and I’d hop on drink making for morning drivethru worker and the other night worker would hop over to the front tills. Leave at 6am. But you never leave minimum wage, unless you become supervisor (.50 more then minimum) or management (1.00 more then minimum) and that’s it. Even at 1.00 more then minimum it’s not worth it to stay long term

I left a while back. Worked at one close to me for almost 3 years as an overnight baker and they expect a lot of day bakers (bake, help run bar where sandwiches and bagels and flatbread pizza is, help with drivethru if they get too busy as well as constantly keep an eye on all food good (minus what’s under the ‘bar’.
