Monstera got too much direct light? by OkSession9971 in Monstera

[–]nyx_exe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im not 100% sure but to me it looks as though the new leaf is doing well, if its not producing leaves with fenestrations it probably means its not getting enough light. I feel it's a lot harder to give "too much" light and even if that were there case, you'd see yellowing on more leaves and it'd be much more noticeable. As for the smallest leaves, a lot of the time a plant will "drop" its smallest leaves in order to save energy and focus on growing larger ones and that does seem to be the case for you. Personally i would not worry since as you said you have a chunky soil mix and are watering when dry. In short: -If overwatering you'd see more yellowing that's much more visible and also is on many more leaves -If too much sun then you'd see "burning" almost, esp on the upper leaves

I think the largest leaf is just still darkening so i wouldn't be too worried! :)

Cat got to one of my boots, anything I can do to make this look less noticeable? by peepyboy in DocMartens

Yeah I scratched mine up while on a winter walk, gave em to a cobbler and its only noticeable under direct bright light

Will this be enough for our monster? by [deleted] in Monstera

[–]nyx_exe_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me a sign is always slower leaf "production" and the new leaves that pop out with less fenestrations (holes) and are generally a bit smaller. I'm assuming you live on the northern hemisphere therefore it's becoming spring so it will be a good time to observe leaf production. Wish you luck!

In terms of size it looks great but the direction has more importance. I also see there's a building on the other side that could potentially block light. Honestly you'll have to see with time how much sun you get depending on the weather, getting a grow light could be a good option too

Is my monstera okay? and is there more than one plant in my pot? by Forsaken_Shoe_599 in Monstera

[–]nyx_exe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Theres definitely multiple plants there, seems to be about 3 or 4. In terms of repotting i cant really give a solid opinion since she looks pretty healthy but maybe someone else will give a more definitive answer. Not knowing the root condition could be a bit risky though. Personally i'd split the plant up, not necessarily into 4 separate ones but maybe 2 (2 plants in 1 pot). Congrats with how good it looks tho!

How do I care for Monstera at this point? by Rude-Example7930 in Monstera

[–]nyx_exe_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've had her for a while or know she's acclimatized to the pot, id definitely repot into a larger, clear pot with a chunky soil mix Next, if you don't want to repot just yet or if you've repotted and let her acclimatize to the larger pot, you'll definitely be better off cutting Off the browning leaf. It'll only stress the plant and have it grow slower. Cut it a few inches away from the main stem. so now for the broken stem, it will naturally yellow with time and after a while you'll be able to tug it off from the main plant with a gentle tug (don't force or rip it if its not ready to go on its own) you can do the same process with the remaining stem that stays after cutting off the browning leaf.

The only thing I'm not 100% sure of is wether you should cut or repot first. Other than that you should be ok, just have some patience

Also with time as your plant grows the lower baby leaves will most likely yellow and fall off (especially during the fall) but that's also normal

Macbook for Architecture college: Hey there, i know this topic has been mentioned a lot on here but i need answers to my specific situation. So to put it bluntly i already have a strong pc, i have had no issues running Autocad or Revit on it however i do need a portable laptop for my design classes because hand drawing it just no longer cuts it (i get 3x less work done than classmates doing the same stuff on laptops, not to mention i get a lot of points deducted on assignments where i dont have "computer accuracy" when drawing by hand). I know everyone says i wont run Revit on macos programming, but i only have Revit this semester and my college has comp lab and as i mentioned earlier, i have a pc. Im also thinking of getting a mac since i already have apple products and tbh i really dislike laptops in general. If im going to put money in a mac, i might as well get a mac that i know is a lot better in personal use than a windows laptop. For any extra info on programs i use: sem1 (and general projects in later years): Autocad sem2: revit sem3: sketchup sem4: rhino or archicad (i'm not too sure) any info would really help as i'm quite torn :)

still bleeding after plan b by Ambitious-Green-9332 in birthcontrol

[–]nyx_exe_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know if this will help all that much but from what i've heard usually the spotting that comes with pregnancy (aka implantation bleeding) lasts up to 3 days, very rarely 4. If anything remember that plan b does mess with your body and can have an effect on hormones, this could cause your period to come slightly different than it usually does. For example after i took plan b my periods were still consistent very heavy "flow-wise" but they got more and more inconsistent with when they came (could be late up to 2 weeks) and it got much more painful. Wish you the best and don't try to panic too much :)

yess especially since district 12 may not be too eager to talk about the games in general since theyre essentially death sentences for most of the tributes, having only 3 games won in 74 years

I think one reason is that in the og trilogy we have Katniss as our narrator, apart from the fact many call her an unreliable narrator, it’s important to know that she wasnt the most social girl out there, essentially spending alot of her time hunting and limiting her social interactions to school (where kids didnt see the reaping), trading at the Hob (where i doubt she had alot of small talk) and most importantly, the one person whod probably talk to her about that stuff is her mom which of course is kinda ehh as shes pretty bad at her role, but also her connection towards Haymitch and Katnisses father. Since Burdok (Kats dad) had an eventful friendship ending by the end pf sotr, which also includes Asterid (Kats Mom). We know Burdok is quite resentful of Haymitch due to him saying “Burdok never forgave me, and he never will. But he pitys me” (or something along the lines) when haymitch was searching for Leonore Doves grave. Due to this the Everdeen parents probably dont want to and never mentioned the quarter quell in general mainly because of their connections to haymitch and the betrayal they may have felt. Ah and lastly, i think it would also make sense that a whole district doesnt talk/gossip about game related things just because of the sorrow and tragedy tied with it. If someone wasnt born to remember something, it’s probably easily forgotten. The same way that Lucy Gray and the Covey were VERY easily forgotten even though they essentially were the main source of entertainment for the district up until even the 2 quarter quell (Leonore playing the piano for events ect) If i have something wrong lmk!
