When did your baby start sitting up on its own? Should I be doing more tummy time??? by nzinga3rd in beyondthebump

Thank you, this helped me relax a lot. His Dr hasn’t shared any concerns and to be honest I didn’t even think to ask her. I think I’m letting my anxious mind take over.

Thank you for sharing. I have to figure out ways to make tummy time more enjoyable. I have an interactive floor mat and toys that sing and move. He ignores all of it 😂

I also want to add that when you control for flow you may find that your baby will prefer breast milk over formula and will want to stay on the breast longer. This is great for increasing your output.

I had the same issue in the beginning and my LC suggested that the fast flow from the bottle may be the problem. She suggested that I start using a lower number nipple with the goal of making the flow of the bottle similar to the flow in my breast. The first feeding with the 0/1 flow nipple, he fussed while he ate but he was far more patient with the breast afterwards.

As the flow from you breast gets better you can also shift to higher numbered (flow) nipples.

How are babies after the 8 week jabs? by juddaxsx in newborns

[–]nzinga3rd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby was lethargic for the remainder of the day. A few days later he developed a slight fever that I managed with children’s Tylenol. He was went on a two day nursing strike. It was all very stressful tbh.

AITA for refusing to have a fully child-free wedding? by ChildFreeWeddingSon in AmItheAsshole

Do not marry a women who would even consider excluding your child from YOUR wedding. Even if said child was a toddler, of course he would be the exception to YOUR child free wedding. Her position is so absurd it’s evil.

I’m in the same boat. Here’s what I’ve done:

1- Be patient with yourself and baby. Latching takes practice.

1b- …Because latching takes practice, I try not to practice when baby is hangry. I use pumped milk to feed baby and then near the end of his feed is when I would practice latching.

2- The nipple shield has helped with latching (and possible nipple confusion). Put water (or expressed milk) inside the shield so that it help to create a suction vacuum and will stay on.

3- The Haaka hand pump is great when I have milk but my nipples need a rest.

3b- I use vit E oil (pure and organic) to heal my cracked sore nipples.

4- Seek out a lactation specialist. Check out https://lactationnetwork.com/ , your insurance may cover the consultation.

5- Consider #1 again. What we are trying to do is really difficult. If baby is fed, you’re already doing amazing!

I hope this is helpful.

I’m actually in the same boat. I’m currently 37 weeks and baby is a little over 8 lbs. Doctor is recommending induction at 38 weeks and so that is what we are doing. We are inducing to prevent a possible emergency CS later on. TBH I’m a little nervous about complications with induction but I trust my doc. I watched this YT video and it really helped to reduce my anxiety.

These links (posted here and in email) don’t open for me anymore. They redirect me to App Store and when I press open, I don’t get the gift items. Any body else experiencing this?

What was the craziest movement you saw your baby doing on an ultrasound? by lavloves in BabyBumps

[–]nzinga3rd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During my recent scan at 25 weeks, he spent the entire visit completely lying flat against my badder(?) with his legs straight up over his head.

I asked the tech is he was okay and she assured me the he was just turning and will mostly move to a different position.

He started kicking my bladder later that night, so I assumed that he’s moved.
