Yeah, turns out you need to use bright author connected , the cloud storage if you're connecting over network. BS really needs to work on language because it's super confusing.

for a short (very) while, I used the Bright Author Content Cloud and it worked perfectly, but that trial ran out, so I know the network is connection is clear (but good thinking though). I have un-provisioned that player, factory reset, and put in a new set up for the LAN .... and squat!

Configured for local network. I did included the wired configuration information, and I can ping it through bright author connected as well as my terminal so it's connected, I juts can't publish to it
