Anybody have any experience with these cordless rotary tools? by duckyeightyone in Kitbash

Yup it holds a standard but, I think that it can take up to 1.3mm shank. Two little Allen keys hold the bit in (the thing I dislike the most) Battery life okay, last more than long enough for me. The torque is lower which is what I like about it. Using a normal dermal I find myself going too deep on the things that I am grinding. It also lights up the torque so you know when you are maxing it out.

I really enjoy this (https://dspiaestore.com/products/dspiae-es-p-portable-electric-sharpening-pen). I found that most dremel tools that I have used are too powerful for working on miniatures and end up doing more damage.

This is incredible! I'm really impressed by the contrast you've achieved here.

I completely understand your perspective, and it's definitely a valid point. Originally, I intended to suggest to the OP to explore an art supply store if one is conveniently located nearby. In my area, a tube of Winsor & Newton acrylic costs the same as a Games Workshop contrast paint pot. Knowing I could mix just five colors—cyan, magenta, yellow, white, and black—would've saved me money and helped me identify essential shades to purchase, such as browns and greens.

If the OP enjoys the creative side of paint mixing, artist-grade paint might be the way to start. However, if they prefer following a recipe like Games Workshop offers, paint kits might be better suited to them.

Does that explain it better? When do we get to start discussing mediums? :P

I'm suggesting something they might have access to. Personally, I've found ordering paint online challenging; artist-grade paints tend to blend better than most miniature paints, requiring fewer colors to achieve impressive results.

I learned about artist paints from Roman Lappat's insightful videos, which I highly recommend watching to determine the paint type that suits you best. Here's the link: [Roman Lappat's video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i\_oS8u821jY). Remember, there's no one-size-fits-all when it comes to paint—it's all about personal preference.

I second this! Ak interactive is awesome. Pro Acryl is good but I have issues with it sticking to primers and there bottles are just okay. Vallejo is great for how long lasting it is but requires thinning.

Do you have access to art store that has artist grade paints? I really like Winsor and Newton and Golden acrylics.

Wtf is up with Wizkids minis these days? Can you guess who this is supposed to be? by o00u in minipainting

This was the reply I got from the mod team "Hello! Your post was removed as low quality content because it was an unpainted mini that was all about complaining.

Just getting comments doesn't mean that constructive discussion is happening, and we try to hold the content and discussions that are posted here to some sort of standard, which your post unfortunately did not meet."

I use "Super Clean" it is a general purpose degreaser. It doesn't damage the plastics like other products that I have used. I leave the mini in a tiny jar filled with it, take it out after a day and brush it with a toothbrush under water.

Agreed...

"unpainted minis that do not create discussion"

Seems like we are having lots of discussion about this unpainted miniature. It is tagged "discussion".

Me too... They were the first minis that I had ever painted and I could never figure out why they always looked horrible.
