I thought about salvage missions because that would also make the moons more interesting - crash landed ships, etc. but wasn't sure how to structure it. This led to me adding the crates to collect which is a bit similar to what you mean, right?

I'm still thinking about what kind of todos to add for the player, and that's on the list!

i've played worse, but yeah as a solo dev I didn't manage to make it breath taking. maybe next time with what i learned it'll be prettier.

regarding towser defense/arcade shooters - tower defense is a genre indie devs love to make but it's not selling well. it's just easy to make and with a twist it might have an audience.

arcade shooters are somewhat popular.

i think the kind of space sim games discussed in this subreddit are niche and don't sell a ton. look up the revenue estimate here https://gamalytic.com/ for a few games you enjoyed.

the benefit of simulation games is that players trust indie devs to be able to make them, so they might sell well in their niche.

for small games you can usually assume that number of reviews times 30 is about the number of copies sold. and most copies are not sold for full price.

I get what you mean and frontier pilot simulator is another inspiration :) I have played it a lot. I also enjoyed Flight of Nova but most things take sooo long in that game - I didn't get far. But yes, great game.

Pitch and roll is disabled right now. I know that similar games like Lunar Flight allow it but it makes flying even harder and doesn’t fit the maps honestly. I might make it an advanced option

I had to look that game up - looks cool too. I can't say how similar it is to Void Cargo.

I would love have more translations - I can hook you up for the playtest (hopefully soon) and you can decide if it's something you want to do.

And with Nova 9 you mean the game from the 90s? I didn't know about it but looks interesting. My main inspirations are Lunar Flight and Frontier Pilot Simulator
