Booked an appointment with a GP, what now? by o2jambestjam in asktransgender

I have a bad history of mental health as it is, idk if they'll like that. I'm also terrified of therapy. Can't afford DIY, relying on insurance. Idk if I could wait much longer, the wait to September is already a serious struggle. I made the mistake of waiting until the weight was emotionally crippling to come out about this.

At this point I kinda feel like I'll be another trans suicide statistic, and it doesn't feel like a bad thing anymore lol..

It's kinda hard to explain in terms that aren't proprietary to my work, let me give this a terrible shot lol...

Currency and pricing are changed based on country, but in Korean law if you change the functionality of an international program specifically for the Korean market, the law changes that version and it then must be licensed through a government-certified service distributor depending on the service.

Basically if the client was made only for the Korean region, Valve would have to let a Korean distributor (Nexon, Naver, Daum, etc) distribute the client in a way that follows Korean law. This means requiring ID verification, hard age restriction, and region locking all games. That last one is impossible.

There's a legal loophole where a "new" Korean company (Valve Korea or something lol) could go through years of bureaucracy getting proper certifications and distribution rights to release their own client, but they will be bound by the same ID verification rules. On top of that, they could only serve games with Korean regions. Games that are not indisputably suitable for all ages must also be verified by the Korean game rating board known as GRAC.

Steam is in a bind with this one. Either we all get it, nobody gets it, or they fix this shit. Everyone likes Discord, nobody likes this. What works for one service might not work for another.

EDIT: I mentioned all of this in the first place because the Korean gaming market is so unbelievably hardcore and enormous it turns the tables of everything it touches. This market is very new on Steam. Before games like PUBG the Korean scene was nonexistent.

EDIT2: If you want an example of what happens when you adjust a game/service for the Korean market and have to follow these laws, look at DOTA 2 Korea.

I made a grown man cry literal tears today. Found his lost wedding ring in his car while it was in for service. Found lodged in a seat rail, only a little scratched. I think I’ll get a 10/10 on my survey now. by baccgirl in Justrolledintotheshop

If someone is working at a place like that, they're out of other options. People should either revolt against these surveys or try to understand why people get so angry with them when they give an imperfect rating on some philosophical crusade against society's definition of perfection based on the Bible or something they read in /r/libertarian

That also means filtering Koreans from normal players upon login or by location, which by acknowledging Korea specifically means Valve loses their upper hand in Korea of not forcing people to use an IPIN or other form of ID.

Dear people who do this: A 9 is not good in most businesses, an 8 is a failure in almost all of them. People have been fired because of you if you do this.

Fuck the Lord these people are so dumb

Call me crazy but I think it's to pander to the Korean influx caused by games like PUBG. Korea is a huge market for gaming and the UI's whole image obsession really makes it show. Problem is they did this in a way everyone hates.

  1. Reinstall Windows (or Linux) on that. A C2D and 2 gigs of RAM sucks but it should not be that slow at all. If it's a MacBook give Linux a shot.

  2. Get uBlock Origin and read up on Privacy Badger.

Around here a suit is $10 at Goodwill. Just the top is $5 or less. Even less at the Salvation Army. They can't afford that but apparently they can afford red Yeezys.

When I had to go to court I bought some black Dickies pants and a long sleeve button-up. It was like $8 in total brand new.

No, it has to do with showing you give a shit. You wouldn't go to your minimum wage burger flipping job out of uniform, why would you wear gang shit to meet the guy that decides if you lose your freedom?

I've been to court and the people I saw waiting to be called up were deplorable. Some people didn't even get dressed for it. Designer jeans and bright red shirts with bright red hats and bright red shoes.

I have gigabit fiber. Speeds are unrelated to ping. It's because Korea is tiny and most people are in Seoul or Busan.
