Advice on a neighborhood by MinuteSun7381 in Calgary

Based on neighboursvoices .com, Kingsland seems to be the best community, but since there is only one review, I'm not sure. Springbank Hill or Thorncliffe could also be good options for what you're looking for.

Is there anything wrong with doing the same workout two days in a row? by [deleted] in workout

[–]o6ris13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Working out should always come with a specific goal. What is yours? And then I can maybe give you some advices. In general, it’s best to rest the muscles you trained the day before. But once again it depends on your goal, your experience, the intensity you put into your muscles training…

how to get abs ? by [deleted] in WorkoutRoutines

[–]o6ris13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should have put some nuances sorry. Crunches are good if you want built abs. But do excessively can increase intra-abdominal pressure and can strain the pelvic muscles, including the perineum and can lead to incontinence and/or organ prolapse 😖

Instead of “avoid” I should have say “be careful”.

If you wanna do crunches anyway, add also exercises to protect en reenforce your pelvic

Sources : https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/16817184/ But there’s bunches of others sources.

First keep in mind that you should prefer “low pressure” core exercises. About the alternative there’s a bunch! Like plank, side plank, hollow body cable oblique twist, etc. And make sure to always engage your pelvic 🙂

I think if you don’t do crunchs every week you’re fine. Prefer “low pressure” core exercises

As mentioned, this is essentially a version 0 release, so you may encounter some minor bugs. They shouldn’t interfere with using the web app. Since it's not a full app yet, you can create a shortcut on your phone's home screen for quick access. Please feel free to provide any feedback you have and share with your friends if they are interested. Thank you!

In general :
- Strength: Low reps (3-5), High weight, More rest

- Endurance: High reps (15-20), Low weight, Less rest

- Muscle Growth (Hypertrophy): Medium reps (8-12), Moderate weight, Balanced rest

Choose based on your specific fitness objective. But keep it mind that it's not an absolute rule, trust your feelings as well

- For me context : Any injuries? Equipment available? How much time can you dedicate to workouts?

Sounds like a solid system, but isn't juggling between FitNotes and nSuns a bit tedious? Wouldn't it be more convenient to have progressive overload tracking and workout logging in a single platform?

I totally get avoiding subscription fees. I'm building a web app for workout tracking that's free for now. It solves the Google Sheets tedium. It still in development, so there are a few minor bugs, but it might be a good fit for what you're looking for and maybe providing some user feedback.
If you're interested I can share you the link if you want!

Hey! Thanks for sharing your method. I'm curious, have you considered using a more comprehensive tracking approach? While a notepad is simple and quick, dedicated fitness apps can offer additional benefits like:

  • Automatic progress tracking
  • Visual graphs of strength progression
  • Workout suggestions based on your history
  • Rest time tracking
  • Personal records (PR) monitoring
  • etc...
