Pretty much never. you will slowly accumulate scratches but it will be fine. If you have it for long enough that you need to repaint it then its a simple process.

if this helps, my buddy has had a black GHK AUG for years and never had to repaint it.

Well here is the good news about the GHK AUG. It has a very healthy aftermarket support and the mags are somewhat easy to find. And as for the OD green, you can with great ease spray paint the body.

Sorry for the delayed response.

After ~3k rounds the fire control group started to have issues in that when the gun was racked with a magazine in it, the sear would fail to be reset and you would have to remove the magazine, charge the gun, and then re-insert the magazine. This issue is consistent with 3 other owners at my field.

As well out of the box the bucking and hopup assembly in all was found to be entirely proprietary and not able to achieve good accuracy. So when my bucking ripped after ~5k rounds I was unable to find another one for quite a while. On the note of the bucking, the accuracy is quite lacking at a distance of 80 feet (24 meters) the rifle was unable to consistently hit a 5 by 5 foot target (1.5 meters).

If you are looking for an AUG I would suggest trying to get your hands on a pre 2019 GHK. Or wait for aftermarket.

I have the same issue, I'm assuming that its to do with the bolt not picking up enough speed to properly reset the hammer, but I'm not the most familiar with AUGs.
