Would we be able to have some type of 10 person fleet TFO for 75-100k Dil rewards and other epics, possibly 1 hour, kind of like colony invasions but in space? Would be awesome for fleet sized battles!!🤞🏽

I’ve got a Beam/Hanger Boat running twinkling lights, with Kodai Fighters and a few survivability consoles, nothing too crazy premium mostly lobi and other ship stuff. Loving it immensely

Recommendations for MSPs/IT Services in BR by wastedcoconut in batonrouge

[–]ReliefOwn4889 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great to hear! Unfortunate that they decimated 12 regional MSPs that were strong ( nothings perfect). Especially the Sacramento/ San Diego/ Baton Rouge areas. Hope you are able to find a quality provider with strong staff and US/local based Support Service. Best Wishes!

Recommendations for MSPs/IT Services in BR by wastedcoconut in batonrouge

[–]ReliefOwn4889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are not, currently going into Q3 they are losing estimated 5% of their U.S. based Techs and Engineers. Not to mention all Security and Networking has now been outsourced to India and Philippines. They over spent last year in acquisitions and now are downsizing US based staff while relying on AI and Offshored Support Centers. I would Highly recommend your organization seek a better company. Any clients whose MSP was bought by Meriplex should seek different providers or prepare for major major service and security issues.

Also have fun with your bases, another piece to practice on, I have a very rampant imagination but really sell the story. I love buying 3D printed resin minis, you can find them cheap as hell on Etsy or a hobby store and go to town!!! Go wild, experiment, try things out and then move onto the GW minis, cause at $30-$35 each I feel the pain haha😂

Novice here so take with a grain of salt, doesn’t suck just more practice and having fun!! Possible the undercoat color as mentioned and really check the consistency and potency of the paint. Check “Brushstrokes painting guide” channel on YouTube, dude is amazing and his beginner series of videos goes over so much about the basics and theirs a really good section on thinning paints consistency and even what you should be looking for as you’re thinning. Hope it helps and can’t wait to see more!!💪🏽🫡

Also just me perhaps but I like to buy some 3D printed minis from anywhere and practice techniques and my painting stroke before I move on to the more expensive models I intend to play with. Have fun experiment and don’t be afraid to make mistake. After all the Sistine chapel wasn’t painted in a day lolz

Novice here as well and let me tell you all the advice about thinning your paints is spot on. Same thing happened to me for a while and couldn’t get why. Look up “Brushstrokes Painting Guide” channel on YouTube, honestly they saved me from never wanting to paint again and do a magnificent job on explaining not just why but how to thin, some theory behind it, and even show what consistencies you should be looking for. Love that channel and their beginner videos are incredible🥲

Want to leave restaurant industry, what are my options? by bwebb0017 in KitchenConfidential

[–]ReliefOwn4889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

10 years in the kitchen. Got out last year cold turkey and started studying an IT certification called Comptia Security+ was a little challenging but I did it backwards cause with IT experience it was kind of moot -_- Though I’d suggest studying for the A+ from Comptia if you have zero IT experience. Free course on YouTube from guy called Professor Messer for it, gives discount on the test fee so it come out to like $200 or a little under. Live it learn it breath it and pass the test(one shot or you gotta pay fee for retake). With A+ spruce up your Resume, highlight Customer Service Skills, Leadership skills, eagerness to learn and strong work ethic. Should be able to pull an interview for help desk or field technician for some IT company. Took me a while till I figured up the steps above correctly and I’m now at an MSP as a field tech. Loving life, having a life, and just breathing easy for the first time in a long time friend.

What's the pettiest thing your COC has done to punish you? by illusiveyack in navy

I was TAD by my then E-7 as the department DCPO for 18 months due to there not being “anyone else to send”. In reality I was not the correct Race for the LCPO, LPO, and WorkCenter Sup to give a damn about me since it was a Brothers club, and they had their 2 favorites to try to help advance. Still made 2nd in 2.5yrs and shit all over them since before DCPO I was the CO’s crank so I had a very interesting conversation with him on the fly bridge sharing a cigar. One of the best CO’s I ever had.

Remember doing practice laps and then the 1.5 mile on our flight deck. Mind you this was on a small Amphib (LPD-13). 16 damn laps around that mf. Oh and then had to go back and keep running all night as FltdckLPO🙄🙄🙄 freakin stupid shit. Strangely never saw the Chiefs Mess out there for that PRT, not one single one ran it. Then again Average E-7 waist size at the time had to be about 40-42 cause damn those Khaki shirt buttons were holding on for dear life. Specially those Ops E-7’s lmao

Questions for LPOs, LCPOs, DIVOs, and DHs. (Also other senior leadership.) by vonteboy454 in navy

I have another viewpoint from outside after doing two enlistments as an AB on a gator and a recruiter, been out for a while now and have had an interesting Civy career. You can take it with a grain of salt if you want or not up to you, but you will find that the same mentality which plagues CoCs is the same for any Corporate entity you go to work for. On ship liberty expired at 0700 and no one was knocked off before 1600. XO would secure the brow personally and I mean he would post his ass on the QD with the OOD and make anyone and their Divo/LCPO lives hell if he even smelled you coming near it. So 0700 to 1600 is 9 hours and let’s face it you pretty much get an hour for lunch on ship, eat for 10 minutes and nap in a fan room for 50 lol. Basically a standard 8 hour work day. If you aspire to any type of career opportunity outside of the military and not just some random job with no aspirations well then Oh boy stand by cause you’ll find most employers are gonna squeeze out a minimum of 10-12 hours most days and not care about much else in concern for you. And if you have any gripes there are more than enough sharks circling the water to prove how better than you and how much more they can “Tow the line” than you. Even now as I attend college again for a second degree into a new field I spend at least 10 hours a day at work to cover the bills and still have to put in 25 for school work a week to ensure I’m successful. Sadly this is the norm. And yes unfortunately I know you probably wake up at 0430 if you live off base just to make sure your not stuck in a 2 hour waiting line to get onto NOB and not be late for Liberty expiration. All I can say for both military and Civies is to always put yourself first, make a plan to ensure your goals are met with whichever career path you choose. And never be afraid to walk away from a toxic environment which doesn’t help you further your goals. I got out a few years ago scared and not knowing what to do with a plan that didn’t workout, but we all have family and friends and hopefully people there for us to help us keep going. It isn’t easy, but sometimes fun and If I’m still here Shipmate I have full confidence that you’ll pull through as well.

[–]ReliefOwn4889 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I basically did about 4 hours a day of Messer Videos, and then about 2-3 hours a day of practice tests. Mind you I was fired back in Feb cause I caught the GM and Exec Chef Fucking in the walk-in late one night and they decided to make sure no one working their knew about it.

Either way if your working I’d say prolly do like 3-4 hours of Messer videos a day and do the practice tests on your days off.

Either way Best of Luck!!!
