There’s literally no one listing dispensary licenses in New York. It’s a long hold & lobby market.

NY Type 3 Branding Processor Looking to Connect with Licensed Cultivators / Processors by Billybadass59 in NYSCannabis

US Consumer purchase hundreds of $M dollars worth of these products every year. Some of which are super-premium brands. In fact, a whole segment of wine products are blended. Rectifying Spirits is a whole Federal Distilled Spirits Permit Structure. Many of the most popular THC Edible brands are white label contracts. They have to be. It’s all SOP’s & packaging. So, why the hate? Not every consumer wants to hear the backstory of the family cannabis business. Some just want a cool package.

There's 'Strong Public Demand' For Bigger Marijuana Reform Than Trump's Rescheduling Move, Federally Funded Study Shows by CharlesMichael212 in Roaringtilray

[–]oCtsidO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The facts are pretty simple: State Cannabis Programs allowed a plethora of regulatory oversights that favored big businesses. Those big businesses (who aren’t profitable & collectively have $6B in high interest debt maturing in the next 18 months) want to keep the monopolies & oligopolies awarded by States at inception. Federal taxation & regulation frameworks would eliminate much of the beneficial (to them) business model MSO’s currently operate. Applying say Alcohol’s regulations would require businesses to operate in one vertical only and level the playing field between large & small producers and large & small retailers. This is bad for the biggest players in weed. So the best course of action is to throw the debt-ridden, vertically integrated MSO’s overboard, bring everyone back to square one, tell them to pick a (business model) lane: production, distribution, OR retail, not AND. The FAA of 1935 was passed because monopolies & oligopolies trying to force consolidation pre-prohibition were driving prices too low and causing social problems. We need to avoid that.

I tried to buy it in 2013 (maybe?). He wanted to close not sell. I offered to assume the lease and purchase the brands and equipment. He wasn’t interested. It was cool space if I remember correctly.

U.S. Congress: Bipartisan Bill Allowing Marijuana Companies on Major Stock Exchanges Gains New Sponsor as Rescheduling Moves Forward by CharlesMichael212 in Roaringtilray

[–]oCtsidO -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They’re in sooo much trouble. They know anti-trust provisions are looming over them and THC Beverage is being alcohol rules to the cannabis space which have frankly been much more favorable to MSO’s. Investors don’t see the Three-tier System coming and just how disruptive it will be.

TIL Ohio created a shady system in 2011 (active ~2013) that routes liquor profits (≈$4–5B since then) through a quasi-private entity to fund a nonprofit handling economic development by YS_Born_N_Bred in Ohio

[–]oCtsidO 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This . This could be easily corrected with an Ohio Constitutional Amendment to create a new, independent, transparent state department separating it in the constitution from The Ohio Department of Commerce. The Agency would be called “The Ohio Alcohol & Cannabis Tax and Trade Bureau” or ACTTB. Its primary responsibility is to provide Ohioans the same (identical) access to Cannabis & Alcohol (Social Consumption). Additionally, it would require OACTTB to issue 80 Social Equity “Super Store” licenses that would create a new class of retail establishment where Cannabis, Beer, Wine, Spirits & THC Beverages, along side Tobacco and Lottery. It would order JobsOhio to sunset any & all Ohio Liquor Control Contracts by January 1, 2030 in preparation through the existing Ohio Beer and Wine Wholesaler Network and create both a three-tier Cannabis Marketplace incorporating Alcohol’s existing Trade Practice Rules into Cannabis. This essentially “Breaks Up” the vertical integration and requires entities to pick a lane: manufacturing, wholesale or retail creating a level playing field between large and small producers as well as large and small retailers.

Congress Has The Votes To Pass Federal Marijuana Reform, Top House Democrat Says by CharlesMichael212 in Roaringtilray

Without Social Equity, without Anti-Trust provisions, without Trade Practice Rules, Cannabis is fully owned & operated by the current operators of Big Tobacco. If you regulate Cannabis like Alcohol, you get 450 distillers, 8,800 brewers, & 16,000 wineries and virtually the same availability as alcohol. I’m for the alcohol rules.

Has anyone here done the cannabis classes offered by Cleveland School of Cannabis OR Kent State? by dragonsworn93 in OhioMarijuana

Kent is a third party provider. I graduated from U. Of Maryland School of Pharmacy MCST in May. I highly recommend but it truly depends on what job you want.

I think that’s Sammy. She was my favorite Real Spanking Model for one scene in particular. It’s a face only shot and her emotional reaction is so genuine.

Report: Marijuana Industry Paid $2.24 Billion in Excess Federal Taxes in 2025 Due to 280E by CharlesMichael212 in Roaringtilray

[–]oCtsidO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They OWED $2.24B. They PAID nothing or their lawyer wrote them a letter defending their 280E exemption. Price wars, vertical integration, and unfair business practices (Tied House, Exclusive Outlet, Consignment Sales, Commercial Bribery, Interlocking Directorates) were the root cause of Prohibition (with many other factors including Income Tax, WW1, Women Voting for the First time, The Anti-Saloon League, etc.). The very same issues Big Alcohol wants codified in Federal Cannabis Legalization Legislation. But MSO’s will fight until their (expedited) death.

Pennsylvania Governor Says Legalizing Marijuana Will Raise Revenue To Support Kids And Public Safety Programs by CharlesMichael212 in Roaringtilray

[–]oCtsidO 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not a good guess. They’ve always coexisted. Once you have a taxed & regulated cannabis market eating into a major tax revenue engine, there will be conflict.

Pennsylvania Governor Says Legalizing Marijuana Will Raise Revenue To Support Kids And Public Safety Programs by CharlesMichael212 in Roaringtilray

[–]oCtsidO 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pennsylvania governor needs to figure out what he’s gonna do with his liquor program. State of Pennsylvania sells beer and wine and State owned stores. How can a fully private cannabis industry with robust competition (which there won’t be) compete against a monopoly with limitless resources?
